"Marissa, we need to go!"

"Marissa, we need to go!"

Lucia Romono did not like to be late. It was her biggest pet peeve as she believe it was bad practice to be late. It meant you didn't care enough to plan out your time (unless there was a genuine excuse, she wasn't heartless) but those who were on time, were more productive. Additionally, the sooner you began, the earlier you ended the day so everyone could go home on time too.

Her daughter, Marissa, had been staying with her for a few days to fly out with her mother and the drivers to Bahrain. Marissa lived in Milan, which was a two-hour journey to Modena, so it was easier to stay with her mother. With Daniel now apart of the team too, it seemed natural for Marissa to bring her boyfriend.

Marissa Romono had been Daniel Ricciardo's personal assistant and media manager for years and the two were too compatible to be ignored. Lucia didn't think it was a good idea in the beginning but then he saw the way her daughter looked like a young child at Christmas everytime Daniel showed up. Daniel helped Marissa to perfect her English and Marissa showed him the wonders of all things Italian.

Though Lucia insisted Marissa use Italian when she was home, the pink-haired woman had been slipping into English more times than not. She knew English everywhere she went and it was more natural than her native-language now. Lucia understood but she didn't like it.

"Sorry!" Marrisa apologised as she got to the bottom of the stairs. "PR business, shall I drive?"

"I'd rather you not," Lucia admittedly honestly. "Last time, we got pulled over."

"I forgot what the speed limit was!"

"I'm driving," Lucia confirmed, taking her keys in hand. "Are you ready to go on Wednesday? Packed?"

"Of course, I am," Marissa replied. "I'm the most organised person you know, even more than you. If I wasn't, I wouldn't have a job as a personal assistant."

"Your thirteen-year-old self would have found that statement hilarious."

The Romono's, which was Lucia's maiden name, had its history. They were an incredibly wealthy family and Lucia had grown up surrounded by it — Yachts, holidays, designer clothes — but Lucia also never saw her father. It was one of the reasons she hated being divorced for the sake of her child but Marissa could make her own decisions about who she wanted to see.

Lucia would be lying if she said she got into the Team Principal job on her own accord. She didn't. She had begun working with her father in the realm of management before stumbling upon the management of a motorsport group in 2010. From there, they just got more profiled.
