Jordan Buckington started the discussion. "So, John, what's the plan for this new 'quite ambitious' ship?" asked by Jordan. John replied "Well the plan is, it wouldn't just be a single ship, it would a triplet of its own!"
Arthur Smith, the co-owner of the BIM Line, joined in the discussion, "Well that, I guess could be a great way to increase the company revenue." John replies, "Yes. I'll be reaching out to our trusted shipbuilding company, Harland & Wolff to propose my new idea."
William Whitlock, the secretary of the BIM Line, then also joins the discussion. "An idea that will make the other shipping lanes point their stupid little heads upwards to our mighty glory!" said ambitiously by William. The others started giggling by his immense overproudness.
Jordan takes a seat and joins them on the meeting table. A few hours go by as they discuss more about the newly planned luxury vessel.
It's a stormy afternoon at April 10, 1901. The horrible news strikes the public. A passenger liner named RMS Romiana was reported to have just sank earlier morning. It was carrying about 1,500 passengers when it hit a rock and started flooding. The ship, soon quickly sank killing the lives of 540 people. The public was devastated for the massive loss of life. But, not more than how devastated John Morgan is.
John's mother and retired father, Pedro Morgan (father) and Dorothy Morgan (mother), were two of the unfortunate souls who died. Few days of devastating mourning were commenced.
A sad and emotional funeral was held for those hundreds of unfortunate souls that died. John Morgan could not miss the funeral. His proud parents were his motivation. Every single one of their moments flashed before his eyes as he dropped the final flower to their grave.
It took weeks for John to recover from the sudden shift of his world. This unfortunate event, delayed the planning for the new luxury vessels. No matter how much pain and problems life throws to us, we need to keep fighting and moving forward for the sake of our future. And so did John.
It was a neutral morning at May 5, 1901. John Morgan along with Arthur Smith are heading to one of the Harland & Wolff Shipyard Company branches. They get off the car and head inside the building. They then head to the meeting room.
They are nicely greeted by the secretary of the company, Herbert Brown. They all take a seat and start the meeting. "So, sirs, why did you call for a meeting?" asked by Herbert. William replies, "We've come here to propose a new idea."
Herbert replies, "Well, tell me all about it." John explains, "As you're aware, the transatlantic shipping competition has been going intense lately. White Star Line have just launched one of their new quadruple sisterships. And, as you've already expected, we obviously do not want our company losing that mighty competition."
William adds, "So, we've come here to propose the idea for a new ship that would absolutely dominate the transatlantic shipping industry! Triplets that would go on to be the most powerful and luxurious ships of this time!"
Herbert replies, "Well, do you have any designs or concepts planned out for these new ships?" William replies, "Well, that's why we're here." Herbert says, "Well, we can talk more about this new ship idea of yours, and then I could assign one of our ship architects to further establish the initial designs of these new ships."
John says, "We would like this new trio to have the absolute luxury that would satisfy every passenger's eyes. It shall also boast the absolute speed, more than enough to win us the lovely Blue Riband!"
William adds, "For the initial designs, we have nothing planned yet. But it shall be big, enough to accommodate what we're estimating is about... 2,500 passengers including Crew Members. It shall be divided into 3 different class. The Saloon Class, Middle Class, and the Steerage."
Herbert replies, "Hm. Well I have listed what you've said. I shall look for an available architect to handle this new ambitious project. But right now, I have another meeting with the staffs. I'll be contacting for additional informations."
John replies, "Alright then, we have a deal." John and William does a friendly shakehand with Herbert. "Alright, we'll be leaving now." said by William. Herbert follows the both of them outside the Meeting Room door and heads to the office. John and William heads outside the building and gets in the car. Then, they drive all the way back to one of the BIM Line branches.
