"I didn't think you would send her."

The woman smiled politely, "Why do you say that, your Majesty?"

The emperor took a sip of wine from his cup, staring at the purple red eyed woman in front of him.

"Your quite possessive of that seamstress of yours. So myself and others are surprised you gave her permission to make a dress for the Marquis daughter."

The empress chuckled, "Well I thought it'd be fun. She is going to be my future daughter in law."

The kings face went stiff, "Daughter in law..so you were serious?"

"Of course I was." The empress smile fell, "The marquis has always been a thorn on our side, the only way we can keep him in check is through the crown princes and the marquis daughters marriage."

"He won't ever allow it." the emperor refuted back. "I know what Elijah is like. He'd rather kill himself then allow a marriage between the crown prince and his daughter. She's his only child and he has no plans to marry agai—"

"Well then maybe he should kill himself."

The emperor flinched.

Despite the horrid words the Empress spoke, she continued to eat her dinner like normal. "That way he wouldn't be a thorn on our side, Your Majesty. The Lumbergh family is nothing more but an embarrassment. The marquis only became a noble by buying the title! His family has no history and no legacy! He's just a peasant trying to pose as a noble!"

"It's embarrassing enough that we're wary of such a person, but it's even more embarrassing when our emperor won't do anything about it!" The empress stood up from the dinner table, grabbed the wine glass the emperor was drinking out of and—

The empress slammed the wine glass in the table, it broke and left the empress with a sharp end. The empress glared at the emperor and pointed the sharp piece of glass towards the emperor;dangerously close to his neck.

The atmosphere was heavy, the empress red eyes has clear intentions to kill.

"Send the proposal.."

"Or I will."

"Your insane, Samantha."

"That's why you married me."

Thea chuckled behind Lila, "This is a pretty tame routine, Young Miss. Normally other noble ladies prepare ahead by months."

"That's so stupid!" Lila scoffed, throwing the face mask she had on to the side, "What's the point? I'm already so beautiful without these treatments."

"It can't be helped young miss, this is the first time you'll be seen in public."

Thea went to pick up the face mask she had thrown and threw it in the small bin of trash.

"I'm sure there are many rumors going on about me." She chuckled, "The people won't take kindly to me making my debut on this holiday."

"What makes you say that?" Thea rose a brow, "The servants around this manor are usually tight lipped. They're dedicated to the Lumbergh Family."

The blonde turned over and locked eyes with Thea, she narrowed her pale blue eyes at Thea's vibrant green ones.

"They're loyal to my father, Thea."

"Not me."

The mood quickly went sour.

Thea's face went grim.

To the servants and commoners, the marquis was well loved. The Marquis rose to his position by his hard work and dedication to what he loved, money.

Elijah was a peasant that lived in an orphanage, and he ran away from that orphanage when he was still young and found work. Elijah worked and worked until he bought the title of a baron and made his last name, Lumbergh. After that Elijah continued to work like an addict, and was able to receive the title of a marquis from the emperor himself. Elijah is living proof to the commoners and peasants that you don't have to be born into a noble family to be a noble.

His story is known throughout the empire and commoners which has made him well liked.

Besides his daughter..

The marquis daughter has made little to no appearance in the social world. The only time she made an appearance in the novel was when she became the Crown Princes fiancé.

She looked down at her hands, narrowing her pale blue eyes in thought.

why did she become such a wicked bitch?

Why did Lila Lumbergh become a villainess. What pushed her to that point?

Did she get cocky after becoming the crown princes fiancé?

Was she tired of her mistreatment?

Was she always like this?

Lila felt like she was gonna go insane by thinking of the possible reason.

"Hey.." Thea came close to Lila and placed a hand on her shoulder with a worried expression.

"What are you making such a face for?"

Lila's serious expression broke, "What?"

"Your making such a scary expression." Thea smiled, "Are you nervous for the ball?"

"Hah!" She scoffed while slapping Thea's hand away, "Scared? They should be scared of me!"

regardless why Lila became a villainess in the novel, i don't remember the reasoning and I simply don't give a fuck.

Lila wasn't gonna have a sudden change of heart, nor was she gonna make amends. She didn't care if the villainess was a naturally wicked woman. It doesn't change the fact the heroine pursued the crown prince knowing he had a fiancé, and the prince didn't care if the fact he had a fiancé and also pursued the heroine.

they're nothing but two whores in my eyes.

"Haha!" Thea gave a closed eye smile, "Yes, they should. I'm sure people will find you to intimidating to initiate a dance with!" she teased.

Thea might've thought that Lila was only saying that to be funny, but Lila meant it with truth.

Lila isn't gonna make amends, or become a saint, or befriend the heroine. She's going to be the same wicked bitch that no one will dare to mess with. Not the emperor, empress, prince, and not even the pathetic heroine. Lila will live the rest of this pathetic life as a powerful wicked woman that not even the emperor or empress can touch.

Thea missed the deadly glint in Lila's cold and dead pale blue eyes. Pale blue eyes that were filled with a dangerous mixture of anger and determination. Anger for the fact that Lila knows that this life she now has is destined for death, and a strong determination to live— no. Survive.

Lila is going to survive.

Lila will survive.

And i'll kill everybody that'll stop that.
