I don't agree with you

Maya looks around " Ok so everything looks good. The house is clean and dinner is almost done. Thank you for being here Andy." Andy eats some carrots " Of course. I know this is important to you but do you really want these type of people around Maverick?" Maya gives Andy a look " They are his grandparents.  They deserve to be in his life." Andy nods " Okay. Well I'm here but if I hear something I don't like from your dad I will say something.  Because this baby is loved. And you won't be like your dad." Maya nods " Thank you. I know my dad help me win but I don't want my son to feel like he has to earn my love.I saw what it it did to Mason." There a knock on the door and Maya quickly answers it " Hey guys! Come on in. Dinner is almost done. This is Andy she is my friend from work." Lane and Katherine enter the apartment as Lane looks around. Katherine hugs Maya " You are glowing. How far along are you?" Maya smiles " Thank you. I'm 5 months almost 6. I also found out what I'm having." Katherine smiles wide " What are you having? I can start making them a blanket. They be born around September right?"  Maya nods " Yes. And I'm a having a boy!" Lane looks at Maya " That is great! There a lot more choices for boys. We can get him into sports baseball and basketball and football. This is great." Maya sighs  " If he wants to do sports he can. But that is years away." Katherine nods " Have you thought about names?" Maya nods " I have. Maverick Lucas." Lane makes a face but is about to say something as Andy looks at them " We all thought it was cute. Maya and Maverick are partners in crime. It is cute and if you don't like Maverick you could call him Luke"  The oven beeps and Maya nods "  The chicken is done. Let's have dinner."

Everyone sits down and starts eating as there is an awkward silence in the air. Andy coughs a little " Maya you should show them the baby room after dinner." Maya nods " Oh yeah. We got it done over the weekend.Andy's dad and friend help me." Lane looks up and points at Andy and Maya " What's going on with you two? You are acting like a couple. Is there something I should know?" Maya shakes her head " No! It is nothing like that. She is my friend. She helping with the baby." Andy nods " Yea! We aren't attracted to each other. I'm helping with my godson. We are family and we help." Lane sighs annoyed " Well we are Maya family. We will help." Maya sighs as Andy shakes her head. Katherine stays quiet as she looks at Lane. Lane shakes his head " So the father isn't involved?" Maya looks up " No. He doesn't want any part of it. But it is ok. I'm going to do everything on my own. I have actually been going to birthing classes. So I'm getting all these tips like for example it better to cuddle the baby when he cries." Lane  scoffs " You are raising him to become a wimp. Your mom babied Mason and look at how well that turn out." Maya sighs annoyed " Mason is fine and second my  baby won't be like that. You are your baby first home and when you cuddle them when they are upset it instant relief." Lane " That is the most stupidest thing I have heard. You need to let them self smooth. They will learn to depend on themselves." Maya shakes her head " Well I don't agree with that. I want to raise my child different." Lane shakes his head " Might as well call him Mason then. You are going to raise him to be a baby. Look at the difference between you and Mason. We didn't coddle you at all and you turn out great. Mason was and look at him now." Andy looks up " Ok I'm sorry Maya I know I promised to stay quiet. But that is so stupid to think that way! Kids need to feel love and safe and know at the end of day their parents are going to be there for them. All kids need is love and I'm damn glad Maya isn't going to be like you at all! This baby will be so loved and definitely doesn't need grandparents who believes that sort of nonsense." Lane stands up " You can't yell at me like that! I don't want this kid to be anymore of a mistake then he already is!" Maya stands up " My son isn't a mistake. And Andy right if you guys do not want to be helpful. Then you don't have in involved with my child. Please leave my house now." Lane glares at Maya " Fine. Katherine let's go now!." Katherine looks at Maya sadly and follows Lane out the door as Maya closes the door and Andy sighs " I'm sorry." Maya shakes her head " My child does not need anything from them." She quickly wipes her eyes " Damn hormones. I'm not crying." Andy chuckles " Sure. Hey it went better then I expected." Maya looks at Andy "You couldn't have stay quiet for five more minutes?" Andy laughs " Oh you know me. I'm not going to let anyone talk crap about my godson." Maya sighs " Thank you.  He is very lucky to have you as his godmother." Andy nods and starts cleaning up the plates " Yeah. Which is all I am. You aren't my type."  and smirks as Maya starts laughing " Yeah you aren't mine either. I know you go for the neighbor next door  boys."  Andy fake gasps and throws a napkin at Maya " Wow.  I can't believe you."  Maya smiles and grabs the plate " Sorry Herrera. But truth hurts."
