Mini Bishop

Something is wrong

      May 5th at 6:30 pm
     Station 19

Maya groans  " I hate this. There has been drunk person after drunk person. And your godson has been kicking me all day." Andy laughs " Isn't early to feel kicks?" Maya sighs " I don't know. But he being a buttface." Andy laughs and grabs some hoses and sets them on the cart " My godson isn't a buttface. How dare you?" Maya shakes her head and grabs some air tanks and quickly drops them as she feels they are full and a sharp pain in her stomach Andy looks over concerned "  What is wrong?" Maya shakes her head " Umm they were full. I wasn't expecting that." She rubs her stomach and looks at Andy " I had this sharp pain in my" Maya bends over and let's out a cry and feels a warm liquid "Something is wrong Andy." Andy yells for help and holds Maya's arms as Jack and Travis run in as Andy yells " Something might be wrong with the baby. Travis drive. Jack help get Maya in the aid air. Go now!" Travis runs to the driver seat as Jack helps Andy get Maya into the Aid car and Maya wipes her tears and whispers " I don't want to lose this baby....I can't." Andy looks down worry feeling her body as she never seen Maya cry before " Hey. Listen you won't. He is a Bishop and they are fighters. He is fine. I won't leave your side." Jack gets Maya set up and yells " Travis drive now."

Once they get to Grey Sloan Maya is rushed back and Jo Wilson comes into the room " Ok. Let's make sure everything is ok. Maybe it was just a sharp pain. But with the blood, there is obvious concerns. But it has been a healthy pregnancy so far" Maya nods and holds Andy's hand as Wilson gets the ultrasound machine going and rubs the gel onto Maya's stomach. Your heartbeat lower then usual as Jo moves it around and stops " Ok. No worries but we are going to need to do an emergency C-section. The umbilical cord is wrapped around his neck. It going to slowly cut off oxygen. It must have shifted the baby when you pick up the air tanks." Maya looks scared and nods as Jo wraps off the gel " We will get everything set up right away. Let's not worry about anything."

           Maya feels numb to what is going down below and inside. She didn't want to lose you; she gotten use to the idea of having a mini me. She turned to look at Andy and Andy wipes Maya's tears "  He is going to be fine. Bishops are fighters." Jo looks up " About to pull the baby out." She nods at her coworkers and they get ready. Jo cuts in and pulls you out unwrapping the cord from your neck. Maya tries to look down and whispers " He not crying. Andy please go check on him. Please."  Andy lets go of Maya's hand and tries to go check on you as the nurses hold her back. Andy takes a shakey breath as she sees you are turning blue as Maya tries to move to look " Andy please." Andy quickly wraps her tears and looks at Maya " He is very handsome. He looks to be ok."  Jo quickly gets into getting the fluid out of your lungs and to supply oxygen. Maya counts the seconds in her mind feeling like hours  before she hears a soft cry and let's out a sob. The nurses quickly get you to the nicu to get you on oxygen as Jo cleans on Maya and sitches her up " Your son is going to be fine. Pre mature babies stay in the nicu but we do everything in our power to get him quickly.  I know you are dying to see him but I need to run some  tests and you lost some blood so you need to rest. I will get you in hour to see your son." Maya nods " I'm fine. Please I just got to see him. I won't be able to relax until I see him. Jo sighs " Ok. I will let you go see him.   I will have someone bring in a wheelchair and we wheel you down or Andy will." Andy nods " of course I will."

     About thirty minutes Maya is wheeled in and she meets you for the first time as she smiles and sticks her hand through and holds your hands " Hi Maverick it's mommy....why are you already scaring me?"  You open your eyes and turn towards Maya's voice as Maya chuckles "Oh my look at those eyes." Andy smiles "Those are the bluest eyes ever."

    May 6th

Maya is holding you  she fixes your beanie as there a knock at the door she looks over and smiles as she sees Pruitt, Andy with Ryan. " Maverick wanna meet some very important people?" Ryan and Pruitt set down presents and balloons as Andy smiles " Hi Mijo. I'm your godmother I'm going to spoil you rotten. SO when mommy tells you no call, Tia Andy." Everyone laughs and you open your eyes but quickly shut them and snuggle closer to Maya. Pruitt chuckles " He wanted to come earlier I heard. We are excited to finally meet you Mr. Bishop. I guess I'm Papa Pruitt I'm going to spoil you too." Maya adjusts you and hands you off to Andy. You let out a little whine as Andy adjusts you. Ryan smiles at Andy and gets closer and holds your hand " Oh he is handsome. Your tia wasn't lying." You open your eyes and stare at Ryan as Pruitt speaks " Oh the baby is mad dogging you." Ryan shakes his head " No he is ok. He can't even see. Babies are blind." Maya shakes her head and yawns " Maverick can see just fine. He always opens his eyes with voices he is familiar with." Ryan smiles as Andy shakes her head " Jerk. I was with your mother her whole pregnancy why didn't you open your eyes for me?" You coo and close your eyes making everyone laugh.

May 8th

Travis and Vic run into Maya room with a bunch of gifts and balloons with Jack behind them carrying a huge teddy bear. Vic smiles " He is here! Hello Maverick Lucas. Dibs on holding him first." Travis smiles " We got his coming home outfit. A station 19 onesie so when he comes into work he is in uniform." Maya laughs " Thank you." Vic nods " And we got him his first stuff animal. A penguin!" Jack smiles " umm I wasn't prepared so I brought him a giant bear." Maya shakes her head and hands you off to Vic; you whine a-little but stare at Vic and yawn. Jack and Travis look at you. Jack smiles " He is a cutie. I wanna hold him next." He takes you from Vic and you start crying. He looks shocked " Hey it is ok. It just Uncle Jack. I'm a good guy." You cry louder and Jack rocks you as Vic and Travis start laughing " Umm I think someone has heard things on girl nights." Maya laughs " Gibson I promise we didn't say anything that bad. But here give me my baby." Once you get handed back you settle down as everyone chuckles as Travis speaks up " So I guess he doesn't like uncle Jack." Jack shakes his head and sighs.

May 15
Tuesday 10:30 pm

Maya smiles as she gets you to sleep. Ten days; ten long days without being able to take you home. She was surprised that you were able to come home so soon but she was excited to finally get you where you belong. Home with her. She rocks you and kisses your head " Maverick I promise I'm going to do my best. You won't ever have to earn my love."  you wiggle in your sleep and Maya smiles and lays you in your crib but sighs " You know what....you are sleeping with me. I want to keep a eye on your breathing." She takes you to her room and gently lays you down and sets pillow around you " I love you."
