CHAPTER 12 I THINK- A very odd funeral

*every chapter from here is judge (Alan) pov until I say so

I answered the phone call, worried but I was sure Gaylord would live. "Hello?" I answered the call, "Hello, this is Intercourse County Hospital, we're calling you to tell you that we lost Gaylord." A woman answered with sorrow in her voice but you could tell she's done this many times before.I immediately hung up the phone and started to cry. Nathan thought I was happy with tears of joy until he read my facial expression further to realize it was the opposite. "D-did he..? Nathan asked quietly, already knowing the answer. The words were too painful to speak so I just nodded.

-time skip-

Here we are, the day I never thought I would see- Gaylord's funeral. We stood around outside where Gaylord was about to get buried. I walk up in front of everyone. Inhale. I breath in. Exhale. I breath out shakily. "I know I've only known Gaylord for about 2 weeks.." I start, "but I've loved him all those 2 weeks and I have never missed anyone more." I ended my speech that wasn't thought out one bit and walk off. Everyone says their speeches that were actually planned and we move on. I take some dirt and put it on Gaylord's casket for some closure. Turns out I didn't need to do it because Tyler walks up and starts doing.. a ritual? He started to speak, "happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Gaylord. Happy birthday to you." He finished with a deep monotone voice. Gaylord started to rise and started to do the chicken dance. Tears fall down my already tear stained cheeks as I begin to realize what just happened. Everyone started to flee in fear but I was in so much shock I stayed. Even Nathan and Gaylord's family fled and I was all that was left. Gaylord looked at me unusually. He didn't seem like himself. His facial expression then suddenly changed. He looked.. sad. "This is the last time I will talk to you, don't listen to him" Gaylord told me with tears and a slight quiver in his voice. I pondered on what he meant until his eyes turned a dark shade of red. I struggled to breath until everything abruptly went black.

LONGEST CHAPTER SO FAR!!! Very impressed and excited. More chapters written but only on paper so I have to get some motivation. Now please drink some water because water is yum <33
