We're almost there, and please forgive the pun in the title, I just had to use it...
=================================
The next morning arrived and I felt my arms being held down. I looked to my left and right to see that with Panette and Merrin cuddling up to me, I wasn't going anywhere. But I kinda needed to, for food reasons. I sneak fully moved my arms away and slid down the bed.
I quietly put my clothes back on and looked back to see the girls still sleeping. Though, it didn't feel right to just leave without giving them some love. I went over to them gave a kiss to each of them before grabbing my gold trophy and left their house.
"Y/N? Didn't expect you to be there."
"Huh? Oh, morning, Saphir." I replied. "Didn't know you were there."
"Well, I was just on my way back after seeing Jade earlier. So what were you doing coming out of Panette and Merrin's house?"
Oh crap! Better think of an excuse quick!
"Well, after we left the theatre, we went back to their place and shared a drink. After that, we did a bit more singing, but I was so drunk on happiness after winning, that I ended up passing out near their kitchen floor. I almost fell into the pool outside at one point."
"Pffft, good god, I would've loved to see that!" She laughed. "I never knew you were that funny. Celine's really lucky to have you."
"She is, but I feel more lucky to have her. Since she's a noble princess, and I'm just an average warrior who has a strong bond of friendship with Alear."
"Hey, no need to sell yourself short on my account. But seriously, what were you really doing in there last night?"
Damn, I thought I had her with that one. Guess it's sparring time.
"Saphir, you know that I'm not a good liar. Everyone knows that if there is anything on my mind, or if any of them needed advice, I would be honest with them. I'm being truthful and Alear knows that I would do anything I could to prove it."
"Wait a moment, I didn't say you were lying. But if you wanna prove you're telling the truth, come with me to the training area in town. You're handy with a sword while I use an axe, so you shouldn't have any problems sparring with me."
I gulped. "Okay, but it'll have to be after breakfast."
"Got it. I'll make sure to let you know afterwards." She smiled and walked off.
My body is going to be destroyed...and not in a good way.
*Time skip, brought to you by a chibi Zelkov trying to *spy* from inside a hedge.*
After breakfast was done, I made my way to the training building, fearing for my health and body. When I got there, Saphir was talking to the guys working and they walked off when I walked up to the weapons nearby.
"There you are, Y/N." She said. "Glad you didn't run. I knew you'd never back down from a challenge."
"Well, I couldn't. I have something to prove and I know that I have to give it my all if I wanna win."
"Good. I don't expect you to hold back, because I won't."
I grabbed a sword and said my prayers. "Alright, with a wooden sword in hand, bring it on!"
She grabbed a wooden axe. "Alright, you asked for it...show me the full strength of an average warrior!"
We charged at each other, as the sparring match began.
