"Okay then.." Kakashi says. Sasuke looks at me with worried eyes, and I force a sad smile and look away.
"Today, we will be doing a type of scavenger hunt. You each have to find the items on the list in the town. Last person to find everything does 200 push ups. And.. Go."
Sakura goes first, not bothering to look back. I open my pocket to ensure my kunai was there, and it was. I saw Sasuke not moving, just staring at me. I feel my cheeks turn crimson red and butterflies run.
"Oh, you can go ahead Sasuke. I'm fine with doing the pushups." I say.
I'd be better off doing them anyway.
I wince at the thought but shake it off.
"No," Sasuke starts. "Wanna go together? I doubt Sakura will find everything on her own. Knowing Kakashi he probably set up traps." he says, and smiles. I smile back at him. He grabs my wrist and before he goes to jump with me, I yank it away and wince.
"Naruto? Is everything alright??" he says, with a look of clear concern. I look up at him with teary eyes but I blink them away.
"I'm fine. Sorry. Lets go," I say, jumping tree from tree.
— Sasukes p.o.v —
He's not okay. I don't know what the hell is wrong with him, but he needs serious help. The other day, Sakura came to my house to bother me about a date. After I rejected her, I noticed her face changed from broken to concerned.
~ flash back ~
Sakura frowns as I go to shut the door. "Uhm.. You okay?" I say, half concerned. More because I've never seen this look on her face before.
"Sasuke.." she started. "I'm worried about Naruto. He's been acting strange, don't you think? Like, not laughing a lot, o-or not being as annoying!! He kinda of just.. Sits there. I didn't mind the change at first. Actually, I enjoyed it. But now it's just.. Weird. I wanna figure out whats going on with him." she says. My face flushes.
"Y-you're right. We didn't even notice.." I say. I scratch the back of my head and swallow. "On Monday, let's ask him some questions, okay? I'll let you ask them, he'll get suspicious if I ask." Sakura nods and waves 'goodbye'
~ end flashback ~
Hn. I don't know what's going on, but I intend on finding out.
"Hey Naruto. I see the town over there. You got your list?" I shout over to him. He doesn't respond, he just keeps spacing out. I jump in front of him and wave my hand in his face, and he looks towards me.
"Sorry, what'd you say?" he says, looking nervous. "Towns over there," I pointed. "You have your list?" he held it up and smiled, and hopped the to next branch in the direction of the town.
"I'll go that way, you go this way." He says, pointing to two different houses."But Naruto, maybe we sho-"
"No, its alright Sasuke." He smiles at me and walks towards the abandoned house. I watch him walk away for a while, and turn to my own. I start scavenging for the things on the list. Eventually, Sakura walks in the house, here yet again to bother me.
"Hey Sasuke-chan!!" I glare at her.
"Hi, Sakura." I say with a half groan.
"I can't find my stuff, can you help me?" she pouts.
"I'm having no luck either. Can you go away?" I bluntly state. She crosses her arms and narrows her eyes at me.
"What's going on with Naruto? It took you guys forever to get here." She states, now tapping her foot on the rotting wood.
