The cool air blowing from the air conditioner lovingly caressed his skin as he watched the blonde haired woman Infront of him slide her thin and slender hands across a thin sheet of paper before aligning the stylish black pen she was holding with a soft 'tap' sound.
"Let's try this again, shall we?" She spoke, her voice was soft and gentle, it reminded him of his mother's, it reminded him of the same voice she would use whenever she was comforting him, although the voice was calming it didn't do much to make him relax.
The woman took the silence as a 'yes', she pursed her lips that were covered in nude colored lipstick as her bright blue eyes shifted to make eye contact with Malachai's black ones.
"At what part of your life or childhood per say did you feel a sudden change in you that might have led up to the reason why you're here right now?"
Malachai had heard this question a good six times today, it was safe to say that of all the therapists he had been to this one was the most persistent.
"I already told you, I don't have some kind of 'hidden' or 'supressed' trauma, so stop implying that I do so you can make money off me!" He scowled, his patience running thin.
The woman sighed, she pursed her lips once more before adjusting her glasses that sat comfortably atop her button nose.
"Malachai, how many times do I have to say this before you listen?" She asked, her voice still as soft and gentle as before.
"Your parents have even come forward and faced facts of what they have done to you, there is no way in hell that what they did to you in the past hasn't affected you mentally."
Malachai rolled his eyes and huffed, he had better things to do than argue with her. "I'm not some charity case so pardon my language but fuck off!"
The blonde slowly stood up, it wasn't something that should've normally taken someone by surprise so why
was his first reaction to flinch as she approached him?Malachai quickly moved his hands up to shield his face as he saw the woman's hand stretch quickly towards him, when he felt no impact or blow he sighed, he had been tricked.
"Now tell me if that was a proper reaction to someone simply walking in your direction after saying such a thing." She said smugly.
Malachai stayed silent, he had had enough.
"Look, I'm gonna give you an assignment ok?" She paused for a second then continued as she reached accross her table and slid a drawer open. "I'm gonna give you this plant, which you will take care of before our next session." She said calmly as she outstretched her hand towards him, revealing a short plant with dark green leaves that had light lines running accross it.
The plant was seated in a small grey pot which was filled to the brim with soil.
"If this thing is still alive by our next session then we'll conclude that you indeed do not have any trauma."
Now it was Malachai's turn to purse his lips and make eye contact, he rose his left eyebrow as they stared at each other intently.
"Deal?"
Malachai thought about it for a moment, before nodding and collecting the small plant from her hands.
"Deal."
