Vera POV:
After picking up Sofia from the Wayne manor and having waved her goodbyes to them. We drove off and headed back home. I felt Sofia lay her head against my back, while we drove through the city. I heard the sounds of police sirens and pulled slightly over allowing them to pass before continuing our way back home.
I saw the garage to Larry's Bar and clicked a button to open up the garage door. I pulled into the garage and parked the bike, letting Sofia get off and then I did.
Grabbing our helmets and putting them on the shelf we walked into the bar to see that there were a couple of people still at the bar. I quickly changed into my uniform. It was the same as Alex's just with black pants and a tie instead.
We walked over to the bar, Sofia took a seat, while I walked behind the counter to get some drinks. I gave Sofia some lemonade, while making myself one of the new specials I had created. Since working here I was the one who made all the drinks for customers, while Alex would cook all the food. She had said that the smell of the food would help to block out all the smells from outside. Whenever I had to leave to pick up Sofia, Emma or Alex would take over for me. While making my drink I asked. "How was the stay over there?"
"Fine" was all she said. "Do you know when you'll be meeting up with Damian again, for the project." "No. I'm going to wait until he texts me. He had said that he has a busy schedule and would be unavailable for a while."
Made since, the kid was the son of a billionaire and if there's anything I've learned from Stark, is that being that rich, usually meant being pretty busy. Especially when you're a billionaire's kid.
Sofia then said that she was going to head to bed.
I saw Alex in the kitchen cooking some food for the customers, while I took orders for drinks and other stuff. Emma was most likely in the office working on some paperwork.
It continued like this for a while before Emma told us that she was going to head up to continue working on some little project that she's been working on for a while now. Soon customers began to leave and the soft clinks of glass cups, and the sound of running water were the only things that could be heard from inside the bar.
After finishing cleaning everything up and making sure everything was locked we left to go to bed. There was a small light coming from the top floor indicating that Stark was still awake tinkering away with whatever she could busy herself with.
I checked to make sure that Sofia was in bed before heading to my own bed.
Emma POV:
Since Sofia had that project to work on with Damian, Vera would go and pick Sofia up from the Wayne Manor. While Alex and I would take over Vera's shifts while she was gone. It went on like this for a while. Until today when the Bar was completely swamped with customers, leaving Vera and Alex very busy.
So for today I had to go and pick up Sofia from her classmate's house. I got to the car and started the drive to Wayne mansion.
I had arrived at my destination and went to the front door and rang the doorbell. The butler, who Sofia said was called Alfred, opened the door. "Hello there. May I ask why you're here?" He asked.
"I'm here to pick up Sofia. Vera wasn't able to come today because of work so I'm here instead. I'm Emma." I said.
"I see. If you wouldn't mind waiting here, I shall go and retrieve Miss Lance for you then." Alfred said. I had said a quick 'thank you' as he walked off.
The concept of butlers and maids were a foreign thing to me. Even though I was the daughter of the richest man in the world we never had those kinds of things, instead we relied l as on our AIs to do things for us instead.
JARVIS, (just a rather very intelligent system) was the first ever AI that I had met and he had quickly become my best friend. I was devastated when I found out that JARVIS was gone. I never knew just how much I relied on him. Then came FRIDAY, (female replacement intelligent digital system), she became dads new main AI system. I liked Friday she had a kind of sass to her that just made her, her. But she was nothing compared to JARVIS.
Soon I heard the soft patter of feet coming towards me. I never liked how Sofia had to hide how smart she really was, she should be able to show everyone just how smart she is. But for the safety of everyone while we were here, we would have to make sacrifices.
I saw Sofia and waved over at her, smiling as I did so. God I loved that kid. It doesn't matter that she doesn't show many emotions or talk that much. Sofia had her own way of expressing her emotions to us.
Sofia saw me and waved her hand back at me. I saw that there was a boy walking next to her, along with the butler Alfred. The kid must be Damian then.
Damian POV:
*A little before Emma arrives*
We still had some more things to work on for the project but other than that we were partially done with it. We had also completed ahead of time as well so that meant that Lance wouldn't be coming over anymore.
That would be unfortunate as annoying as this project was, I didn't mind Lance's presence. Usually I hate being around people, they are always so annoying to deal with.
But with Lance it was nice. In fact I might even go as far as to say that I enjoyed being around her. Not that I would ever admit that to her or anyone for that matter.
After our first day of working on the project, I started to do my own research on her, with the bat-computer after she left. I didn't find anything except that apparently after her parents died she was then taken into custody by family friends, Emma Stark, Alex Black, and Vera Ivonna.
I even did a background check on them as well and there was nothing wrong with their file from what I could tell. I did learn that they are not from Gotham, but New York. Why they moved down here I still don't know yet, but it must have been for personal reasons.
Alfred had come to tell us that Lance's ride was here.
We finished up what we were doing and headed down to the foyer where Vera would be.
Once we got there it wasn't Vera standing there but a different woman. She had chestnut hair and hazel eyes. She waved over at Lance with a smile. She then looked over at me with a smirk on her face.
For some reason when I saw that smirk I wanted to yell at her and tell her to stop it. That smirk and the look in her eyes almost seemed to say that she knew everything there was to know about the world.
Lance waved back at her before looking over at me. Something in my facial expression must have given away to my irritation, because Lance then looked back at the woman then to me.
Humor seemed to shine in her eyes while the corner of her lips twitched almost as though she was fighting off a smile. Maybe she was. This was probably the most emotion that I had ever seen on her face, since we first met.
It was nice seeing her like that. Now I really wanted to know who that woman was. We continued to walk over to her, before stopping in front of her.
"Hey kid. Ready to go?" she asked.
"Yes." That surprised me. I thought that she would just nod her head like she usually does, but she didn't. Whoever this person was was able to get both a reaction out of her and for her to be able to talk more.
They started to leave before the woman then said "So when were you planning on telling me and the others that you were being bullied at school?".
Lance was being bullied at school?! I was going to have to look into that.
She put her hand on the doorknob about to walk out before she could open the door, my father along with Jason walked in from the other side of the door, making the woman fall down.
But before she could hit the floor Jason caught her. "Hey there, beautiful." said Jason, smirking down at her. He was about to say more before the woman suddenly punched Jason in the face.
