Alex Black POV:
I was finishing cleaning up some of the tables when Emma decided to make an appearance. "So who's the guy?" Emma asked with a smirk on her face and a glint of mischief in her hazel eyes. As annoying as Emma could be sometimes, I know she did it out of a place of love. "Don't tell me you have a secret boyfriend you never told us about." she teased. Or sometimes she did it just to be annoying.
"He's not my boyfriend, Emma."
"Oh, really. He's not. Then do tell why you were getting all chummy with him."
I rolled my eyes at Emma and went to the next couple of tables and finished cleaning them up. "I was not getting all chummy with him." Emma gave me a look that said 'Oh, really'. "It's called being polite Emma. Maybe you should give it a try sometime."
Emma scoffed at that and said "Oh please, tell that to Vera not me." As much as I hated to admit it she did kinda, have a point there. Which reminded me, "Do you know when Vera and Sofia are coming back?".
"Actually she just texted and said that they were stuck in traffic, so they might be a little while." Emma replied.
After finding out that we had been transported to a different universe, we knew that we would need to build ourselves fake background stories in case someone ever decided to look a little too closely at our lives. Emma and Vera had made all the stuff we would need to prove our identification. Emma, Vera, and I all worked at the bar, while we sent Sofia to one of the schools here. Back in our world Sofia took online classes because of personal reasons but staying here meant having to play the part of our background story. Sofia was not happy with that and considering that she's not all that with expressing her emotions was saying something.
After Larry gave us the bar and went to go and retire out in the country Emma became the main owner and manager, Vera our bartender, and I would help around with whatever else needed to be done. We all have our assigned job but we still help each other out whenever we need it.
Vera had gone to go and pick up Sofia from school. We know that Sofia can take care of herself but between being in a different world and being in one of the most dangerous cities here, we'd rather not risk the chance of something happening to her. We wouldn't want to have to blow our cover.
Just as I was done wiping down tables I heard the sound of an engine pulling up in the alley garage. I went out to see Vera with Sofia on her motorcycle. We were able to save up enough to get a motorcycle and car in case we needed a quick get away. The trunk of the car already had stuff in it, in case we wouldn't have enough time to pack everything.
I smiled and waved. Vera nodded her head towards me indicating that she saw me. Sofia and Vera got off the bike, taking off their helmets, setting them on one of the tables next to some of Emma's tools that she kept down here. Being in a new universe never prevented her from finding something new to tinker with, or fix, always saying that there's always room for improvement.
Emma never ceased to amaze me. "Hey, sorry we're late. We got stuck in traffic." Vera said. "It's fine Emma already told me." I said.
"I hope there weren't too many customers today."
"Not much. It was a pretty calm day."
Vera nodded and looked over towards Sofia who was heading upstairs to our apartment carrying her bag, wearing the Gotham Academy uniform. "You should take the rest of the day off. I'll finish up the shifts and close for the night." Vera said. "You sure?" I asked. "I am."
I left Vera to go and follow Sofia upstairs. I saw her sitting on the couch eating some grapes, flipping through the different channels. I sat down next to her, taking a few grapes as I did. "How was your day?" I asked. Going into me and Sofia's usual routine. She continued looking at the T.V before responding "It was fine." she said. With the way Sofia talked and looked you would have just thought she was just some shy, innocent, teenage girl who had yet to experience the cruelty of the world.
But I knew better, we all did. We knew that Sofia was not as innocent as she looked. Sofia had the ability to be just as ruthless as the rest of us, when it was needed. Sofia had never been a big fan of talking or expressing her emotions. But I guess the day when you were born and took your first step and trained to become a humanized weapon, you don't really get the chance to talk or express your emotions that much.
When we took Sofia under our wing It took a while until she began to trust us and care for us the same way we did for her. "That's nice to hear." I said. We settled into a comfortable silence watching T.V.

Damian Wayne POV:
Tch. Unbelievable. This was ridiculous. I can't believe that my father called everyone here. We don't need help. We can do this perfectly fine on our own.
The Joker seemed to have once again escaped Arkham Asylum. And is now causing havoc in the city. Everyone was here except Greyson. Apparently he was on his way back to Bludhaven before father called for him.
Todd, Drake, and Gorden were all here. The other girls were out on some other business apparently and were otherwise unavailable. Drake looked like he hadn't slept for days, which is most likely because he hasn't. Todd was sitting down cleaning his guns, while we all waited for Greyson.
Soon I hear footsteps coming down the stairs and can already tell who it is. "You're late." is all I say to Greyson, barely sparring him a glance in his direction. "Sorry little D. Traffic was pretty bad."
"Do not call me that, unless you want me to kill you." I told him. I hated that nickname. Greyson simply just smiled and ruffled my hair up a little bit while walking past me and heading over to father. As he walked past me I could smell a hint of alcohol.
"What's going on Bruce?" Greyson asked. "The Joker's decided to take hostages." Father said.
"Of course he did ." Todd muttered. Tightening his grip onto his guns. Even now Todd still held a grudge against Joker after what he did to him. "Where is he at B." Greyson asked, ignoring Todd's muttering.
"Joker and Harley are over at an abandoned warehouse just off of Kings avenue."
"Kings avenue!" Greyson exclaimed, surprise and then worry on his face.
"What's wrong, Greyson?" Gordon asked.
"Nothing, really. It's just that I was over there on Kings avenue. God, I hope the people over there are okay."
Greyson, the first robin, the golden boy, was someone who always tried to see the good in things. He was always worried about other people. Fussing over them like a mother would her children. That's how he was with us.
I look up to Greyson more so then I do father. He has this spark about him that draws you in. Not that I'll ever admit that to him or anybody.
"I want everybody suited up. We'll head out soon." Father said. We all left to put on our respective suits. Gordon of course stayed behind. She would stay here at the batcave and keep an eye out for us through the bat computer.
After everyone was ready we left to go to the warehouse where The Joker was.
