When the shower stopped, I nudged Bella. "You want a shower?"

"Nope. I'm going to lay here and rest." She curled up in the blankets and went right back to her sleeping look. I'd have to start studying her to see if I could tell the difference between her being really asleep and just faking. She was damned good at the faking though!

"The shower is all yours!" Willow announced as she came back out with Lexie, both of them with big smiles on their faces.

I got up slowly, trying not to bounce Bella on the mattress, and then slipped into the bathroom with a small smile of my own. I wasn't going to bring up what Bella had said, because it sounded as though she was making a guess on what they wanted and hadn't heard it directly from them, and I didn't want anyone embarrassed. If they truly wanted that, we'd have to have a talk. I had no problem with them wanting me to be their donor. It was sweet, and the more I thought about it, I was thrilled at the idea. But how we accomplished that, and if they really wanted me to be a part of their life, that was an entirely different topic. Yes, we loved each other, but I wasn't in a good place for that kind of thing.

Before I got into the shower, I hand washed the leather pants in the sink, then hung them up to dry. Hopefully, they'd be ready for me to pack up in the morning. But while they dried, I got into the shower. I moved fast, not wanting Bella to have to wait too long. As much as she wanted to play like she was sleeping, I wanted to get her on a good sleep schedule. I doubted we'd have many days of sleeping late in our immediate future.

We didn't have any real plans for the day because we had to just rest and keep our eyes on Bella and Lexie. If they made it through the day, then the next day we'd start moving towards getting the rest of the girls in the club freed. That meant Joe coming through on getting me everything I needed, which hadn't been a problem before, so that we could do our planning.

Once I was done in the shower, I threw on my sweats and a sports bra to relax in. My first plan was to look at the area around the club to see if there were any likely ways to infiltrate it. I was hoping we could keep ourselves entertained for the morning, and then around lunch go get food, and get everyone new phones. I could easily add them to my cell phone plan, the one for my personal phone that Lexie had called before, while keeping the work phone on the corporate plan.

"Bella, the shower is free," I told her as I walked out into the room while seeing the three of them huddled up. Everyone froze, as though I'd interrupted, and she nodded quickly before bolting in there. "Is everything okay?"

Lexie and Willow shared a look and nodded, while Bella bounced up and walked towards me with a nervous smile. "Jesse, can you ummm... Can you sit by the bathroom while I shower? Just make sure that I'm, okay?"

"Yeah, of course. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

She gave me a quick hug. "Thanks!"

I camped out on the floor, my feet stretched out in front of me as I heard her humming in the shower. She was a great kid so far, and I hoped that we could get her somewhere safe so she could get back to having a normal life. She should be in school, meeting girls and enjoying herself with a family that supported her. I know, it was a life we all deserved, but I was going to do my best to get that for Bella.

"Jesse, can we talk to you?" Lexie asked from the farthest bed.

I nodded. "As soon as our little sister is out of the shower, I'm all yours."

"Perfect!" She hummed happily and snuggled into Willow who gave me a little wave.

My phone buzzed, and I looked down at it. There was a text from Joe telling me there would be a delivery to the hotel soon, and to not go out. Well, that was annoying, because I was hoping for some food before the hotel breakfast was over. With a sigh, I just leaned back and waited. I wasn't going to let everyone go down without me, so I'd have to be patient. Maybe we'd go out early for a nice brunch instead once the delivery was made. On the good side, we did still have the snacks, so we wouldn't starve.

The shower water stopped, and I stuck my head into the doorway. "Have a good shower?"

"Yes! Thanks! I feel much better now, so thanks for watching out for me."

I walked over to the bed, sitting next to Willow and Lexie. "Okay, I am officially all yours. What can I do for you?"

"Okay, first, you have to show Lexie your back tattoo," Willow told me as I sat down. I looked at her in confusion before she explained. "I saw them when I brought you the towel in the other hotel shower."

Oh, of course. She'd draped the towel right over my back, so she'd seen the wings. She hadn't seen the other though since I'd been hunched over. With a shrug, I turned my back, giving them both a view of the black and grey angel wings that were spread out, covering almost my whole back.

"Holy shit! They're gorgeous! How long did it take?" Lexie reached out, gently running her fingers over the right wing, while Willow did the left.

"It was 5 sessions to get it all done, but it came out well. But it fit how I was feeling with everything I'd been doing, so it was worth it," I tried to explain in a soft voice. Bella came out of the back, then came to see what they were doing.

"That looks great! Will you take me to get one too?" Belle asked excitedly.

"What would you want?" I hoped she would get happier ones, but if she wanted to get some, I wouldn't stop her.

"Maybe like a heart or something for my dad?" she said. "I don't know what though."

I turned around, lifting the bottom of my sports bra a little and showing the little red heart that was right above my own. "I got this for Lessa because she's always been in my heart. You don't have to get yours there though. Maybe if your dad is your strength, you could put it on a bicep, or on your hip if he keeps you going. You'll figure it out."

"I'll have to think about where to put it, but I like that idea." She pulled me into a hug and squeezed me tight. "Thanks Jesse, you're the best!"

"What did you mean when you said the wings were how you were feeling?" Lexie asked quietly.

I looked over at them, opening my mouth to give them a white lie, but I couldn't. "I just felt dark, like an angel of death. So now it fits."

Willow and Lexie clambered over to join the hug, and we all had a few little unshed tears in our eyes. Okay, mine might have escaped a little, but that was typical for me when thinking about Lessa. We might have stayed there for quite some time had someone not knocked on the door.

All three of the others jumped in surprise, and I quickly held my finger over my lips. "On the floor behind the bed. I'll take care of it." They rolled off the bed, and lay down on the floor, while I moved to my gun case. I opened it as quietly as possible, and pulled out the silenced Sig Sauer, before padding over to the door. Standing to the side I called out. "Who is it?"

"Jesse, it's Joe," came a familiar voice. "I told you there would be a delivery today!"

"Joe? Seriously?" I hadn't seen him years, though I'd worked with him since I'd been a part of this organization. Something was definitely up.

"Yeah, seriously I have a lot of goodies for you, and a lot of answers to questions that I think you have." He sounded nervous, which made sense. Joe was experienced enough to know that I was armed, and that I would defend everyone in the room.

I quickly opened the door a crack, aiming the gun at him. He already had his hands up, knowing I'd ask him to, and he had a luggage cart with several bins on it next to him, and a tiny blonde girl peeking out from behind him with a smile on her face. She looked like she was just a little older than Bella, if that. That was unexpected. "Who's the girl?"

"I thought you wanted to know who you were working for?" she asked in a calm voice.

Seriously?
