It was the end of the interview. Jack sat back and thought for a moment before sitting back up and looking at you. "Y/N, you're hired! When can you start?" He asked you with a happy tone in his voice. You didn't know why he seemed so excited about it but you answered nonetheless, "uhm today I guess."
"Great! You have a few hours" He said, still with his big plastered smile. He then told you where to go to get your uniform and gave you some papers with the rules and everything. You skimmed over it and got up to go where he told you to, "Thank you, Mr. Box," you thanked him before you shut his door. "No problem, Y/N."
You got your outfit and went home to get lunch and change.
A couple of hours passed and you got up to go back to Jack in the box. "Damnit," you while you stop behind a long line of cars, "I'm gonna be late, boss is gonna fire me on the first day!" You start to get frustrated as you're now 30 minutes late.
You finally get there and put on your visor as you head into the kitchen. You walk up to the cashier who was covering for you. You tapped her shoulder, "I got this, thanks, and sorry," You told her. She smiled and nodded at you, walking off. "I can help who's next!" You called. You take a few people's orders, and everything is going well until a woman comes up to you and demands a refund, "I deserve a refund, my fries were soggy!" She yells at you, "th-thats not how it works, I'm sorry. We can make you new fries but-" you get cut off by her yelling at you again, "I don't even know what kind of fries you got, I need your receipt!" You told her, but she refused. Customers were waiting for their orders to be taken, and she was yelling at you. Suddenly there was a tap on your shoulder. You hesitantly turned around. It was jack.
"I got it from here, Y/N. Thank you." He still had that dumb smile on his face, but you could tell he meant the thanks. He could tell you were overwhelmed and didn't want to embarrass you in any way, so as you walked away, he whispered to you, "You'll be working overtime," and pat your shoulder. 'I deserve that' you thought, 'I was late after all.'
