Hidden Island

Chapter 2 ~A Different Clan~

Lucy.

I was awoken by the feel of cold, damp cloth on my arm. My eyes snapped open only to see Blake bent down cleaning my wound. ''What? Your bounds, they are untied. Why did you not run away?'' I asked, utterly confused. He looked up at me and said, ''I don't want to run. I have nothing back where I left. I want to stay.'' ''Then why are you cleaning my cut?'' I asked. He looked confused this time but then just shrugged his shoulders.

''Okay, Blake. You and me are going to meet my mother.'' I said. He looked worried for a moment before saying, ''I thought the elves would not like a human to be among them?'' I smiled and just said, ''I never said anything about my mother being an elf, did I?'' His face contorted with confusion. ''Just trust me?'' I asked Blake. ''Okay, I trust you.'' he replied with that beautiful smile of his. Wait, beautiful smile? No, I can't be thinking things like that. His smile was beautiful though.

When Blake and I arrived at the gates of my clan he was looking rather nervous. ''It's okay. I do need to tell you something before we meet with my mother.'' I said to him. He nodded slowly. Walking up to the gate I smiled at the guard, recognizing him as one of my friends. ''Lucy, go on in.'' he said to me. I nodded and thanked him. Blake and I walked in and sat down under the shade of one of the many trees there.

''My father was married once. After she died before having the child she was pregnant with, killing the baby as well my father made love with a vampire. I guess it wasn't making love, just sex I suppose because that was the end of the relationship. The vampire wanted there to be a relationship with my father because she loved him. After that he acted horribly to her, making her lose all the love she had for him. She was pregnant though, with me. A while after I was born my father took me away, claiming me as his own. He never told me what I was. One day I went out and found this kingdom and met my mother where she told me everything. I do love my father but this is where I belong, even if he will not allow me to live here. I'm half vampire, half elf.'' I said, worried that Blake would run in fear because I knew the stories of vampires that humans have. They were, after all, based on truth.

''I'm not going to run, if that's what you're thinking. Like I said before, I trust you. Though, I would like you to tell me about vampires.'' he said to me.

''We do drink blood. When the humans came onto the island before a witch enchanted the waters around us we would drink from them. Now, we drink from the animals. If one of us bit a human they would become like us. We do live forever, too. Many of the stories about us are based on the truth. The sun and garlic don't hurt us. That's just stupid. Because I'm half, I won't heal instantly like everyone else. I won't hurt you, and I won't let anyone else hurt you.'' I said with sincerity in my eyes and in my voice.

Blake.

I chewed on the inside of my cheek and looked fearful for a moment. I looked up and saw Lucy, looking down at the ground in shame. ''Lucy?'' I asked. She didn't look up. Gently, I placed my hand on her chin and pushed her face upwards to me. Her eyes stayed down, refusing to look at me. ''Lucy, look at me.'' I said.

She slowly moved her eyes up to look at me. Hey beautifully curly hair feel down past her shoulders. Her mesmerizing blue eyes shimmered with tears. ''Lucy, don't cry. If you think I'm going to run, you're wrong.'' I said, softly. She quickly moved her hands to her eyes to dry them and smiled, ''I'm not crying.'' We just laughed together.

''Come on, let's go see my mother.'' she said, still smiling. Gosh, she was beautiful. Inside and out, she was beautiful.

Lucy.
