As I drifted off to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for me and for the rest of the season. But for now, I was happy to be in bed, safe and sound, with Dominic by my side.

Now...

I was awoken by Rosaline, who touched my shoulder gently. Her dark black hair cascaded her figure, and her smile motivated me to get up. She adjusted my pillow and reminded me to take my medicine. The Archduke had advised her to make sure I took it since I missed it after yesterday's events. I blushed at the thought of yesterday and wondered if Hannah was jealous.

Pushing aside the thought of jealousy, I took the medicine from Rosaline's hand. As I swallowed the pill, a sudden headache came on. Rosaline noticed my discomfort and suggested I take a break from my royal duties for the day. I disregarded the headache and told Rosaline I would start my duties, as I knew Auntie would want me to be a responsible and productive princess. I asked Rosaline to get me dressed for breakfast.

As Rosaline helped me get dressed, I couldn't help but think why Lady Hannah is so obsessive with Dominic knowing well that no one will take away her relationship with Dominic, it's been rumored from the court that Hannah is very obsessive with Dominic it was said that at Lady Danbury's ball while Lady Hannah spotted Miss Cresida dancing with Dominic and by "accident" she pushed or more like shoved Miss Cresida to the floor, making a big commotion that day, especially since the diamond of the season is some Lady Daphne Bridgerton, my auntie has wanted to introduce us to her some time, but it appears Lady Hannah even scarred Miss Cresida's face, which is quite the biggest rumor in this season, but anyway I was dressed in a beautiful light blue gown that was decorated with black embroidery along with the necklace that my mother had given me before we left for London, my blond wavy hair was placed in a bun, as soon as Rosaline placed my crown on, there was a knock on my door, I frowned in confusion and gestured for Rosaline to open the door. Sitting down, I tried to figure out who could be requesting an audience before breakfast, as it was unusual. Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by a stinging sensation on my cheek, and I realized that Lady Hannah was standing in front of me. I quickly deduced that she was angry about me taking her man, and she proceeded to insult me and throw the flowers that he had given me. She then grabbed a vase and smashed it against my hand. Just as she was about to strike me with a shard of the vase, Dominic came in and pulled her away, scolding her for harming the princess. I asked them to leave me alone and sat down, my wounds causing me pain.

Dominic bandaged my hand in silence and then confessed that he didn't want to marry someone he didn't love. I reminded him that his duty was to serve and honor his family and that we had to abide by his father's orders. I explained that I had given up on us and decided to let him be with Hannah, as my disease had caused the death of my youngest nephew. I tried to stand up to leave, but Dominic hugged me and professed his love for me. I told him that it was time to let go of our feelings and do what our families wanted, as it was for the better.

Dominic's confession left me feeling conflicted. I too had loved him since the moment we met, but the reality was that our families had different plans for us. I couldn't ignore the expectations placed on me as a royal, especially with my health condition. It was hard to accept that I had to let go of my feelings for Dominic, but it was the right thing to do.

As I sat there, I couldn't help but feel a sense of loneliness wash over me. I had always known that being a princess would come at a cost, but I never imagined that it would be this high. The incident with Lady Hannah made me realize that there were people who would go to great lengths to harm me, and I had to be careful.
