"Alright! It's Friday, so I'm off to Suzie's, so-" Gwen said, starting to walk the opposite direction as me, being cut of by me.

"I'll take care of Dad!" I said, smiling as a way of telling my sister she can go.

"Bye! I'll be home by 8:00!" Gwen yelled, running off.

I was smiling as I walked towards my house. I was excited for Saturday, I got to see Robin again. I was confused on why I had been feeling so happy around him, but I decided to just ignore it.

As I entered my home, I realized my dad had already passed out from his drinking. My dad often drank, and sometimes smoked. I grabbed the bottle of Vodka from my dads hand and set it on the small table next to the couch he was on. I grabbed a blanket and covered my father as he slept. I then went to the living room and turned on some cartoons quietly. I don't know when, but before Gwen got home, I dozed off to sleep.

The next morning I was awakened by the sound of my father yelling. I quickly got up and looked out my doorframe to see what was happening.

"WHY DID YOU COME HOME LATE GWEN? YOU SHOULD BE HOME BY 8:15!" My dad yelled at my crying sister. Luckily, I don't think he had hit her yet.

I ran up to my father yelling at him to stop, just incase he planned on hitting her. My dad quickly slapped me hard across the face.

"DON'T GET INVOLVED YOU. I DON'T NEED TO DEAL WITH YOU BOTH." My dad yelled, as my sister went to the living room trying to avoid our father.

As my dad finished yelling at me, I first checked on my sister in the living room, making sure she was alright. I then went to the bathroom, praying my father hadn't marked me from his slap.

As I looked in the mirror, I sighed deeply. There was a big red mark across my cheek from where my dad had slapped me. 'Hopefully it will go away by the time I meet up with Robin' I thought to myself, walking into the living room to join my sister.

As we watched the TV, I heard my sisters voice speak up in a soft worried tone.

"Are you ok, Finney? It looks like Daddy really hurt you.." she said, looking at me.

I stared at the TV trying not to worry my younger sister. "I'm fine. It should go away later." I said, hoping my words were true.

"Alright.. I love you Finn" Gwen said, looking back at the TV as well.

"Love you too Gwenny." I responded with a sigh.

When it came around time to start to meet up with Robin, I checked to see if the mark had went away, but it looked just the same as when it first was. 'Fuck.' I thought to myself, trying to cover the mark up the best as I could with my hair.

"Dad! I'm going to the park for a bit! I'll be back by 6:00!" I yelled to my father, waiting for his response before leaving, in fear of angering him.

"Alright.!" I could hear my drunken fathers voice yell back.

As I shut the door to my house, I started to worry about Gwen being left alone with my dad, but I convinced myself she would be ok. I took some deep breathes then started heading towards the Park so I could meet up with Robin.
