A Hopeful Reunion

Joyce bit her lip with excitement, she was going to see her kids. Joyce glanced out the window seeing the 'welcome to Hawkins sign.'

"Wow, it looks worse than they said" hopper mumbles looking out the window at the large cracks in the earth, and a faint darkness in the distance, something he decided he should check out when he has time. Joyce put her hand in hopper's. Hopper looked at her and gave her a big smile.

Joyce gave hopper a kiss on the lips "I love you" she whispered, "I love you too" he whispered back pushing a piece of hair out of her face, that came loose from her ponytail.

The car they were in turned down the dusty road following fresh tire tracks. she could almost see the cabin, through the trees, finally they pulled up to the house.

"We need to spend time together, once this is over, just me and you" Jonathan says helping Nancy put up boards on the window "yes, I would really like that" Nancy says smiling.

"guess what" Jonathan says "what?!" Nancy asks "I got into Emerson!" Jonathan says. Nancy's already large smile got even bigger and she says "I'd hug you, but we need to finish putting up the board first" Nancy says "alright, hit the last nail" Jonathan says "done" Nancy exclaims jumping into Jonathan's arms kissing him sweetly "are we expecting someone?" Nancy says looking behind Jonathan's back, "yeah" Jonathan says turning around "hopper should be coming here from his business trip, I don't think he'll be happy."

"I'm going to talk to El now" will says to mike after they had their vecna conversation "okay, I'll see if Nancy and Jonathan need help" mike says.

Will knocked on the door of El's room in the wreaked cabin "Mike, I told you I don't want to talk, leave me alone" El says with a scratchy voice "it's not mike" will says softly "we don't have to talk" he assures. The door unlocked with a click and slowly opened courtesy of El's powers.

Will walked into the room and closed the door behind himself, he looked at el seeing her teary eyed and distressed. A floor board creaked under his weight as he approached El and sat down next to her "are you okay?" Will asks grimacing at his wording, because of course she isn't fine.

El looks at Will with tears in her eyes, then she launched herself into will's arms and she start slowly crying. Will hugged El tightly, just sitting there being a human tissue for El. She slowly moved out of Wills arms and whispers "maybe papa was right, I wasn't ready" "no" will says "papa was wrong if you would have stayed there max would've died."

"She did die" el says tears rolling down her cheeks "but now she's fine" will says handing el a tissue to let her wipe off her cheeks. "I was barely able to save her, we don't even know if she'll ever wake up" El says "you know she might not be here right now" will says grabbing El's arm pulling her up to the bed "but if she was here,she'd be thanking you for saving her life and saving Hawkins."

"This fight, this fight isn't over, when your dad gets here, which one of Owen's agents says could be anytime mid-day, we'll get ready to fight vecna and we're going to win, and you know why? Because I have the toughest sister ever" will says smiling "I'm your sister?" El asks smiling "El you're not only just like my sister you're like my twin" he says giving El a big grin.

Hopper gets out of the car and helps Joyce out of the car. Jonathan's face went from happy to pure joy and shock, Nancy and mike also stood there quite shocked. Joyce ran towards Jonathan and gave him a big hug, "mom" he said sobbing "you're here" "I missed you so much" Joyce says crying.

"where's Will?" Joyce asks looking around "I think he's in El's room, with her" Jonathan answers "go see them." Joyce walked up the creaky steps and opened the door to the house and walked in.
