Chapter 1: death & reincarnation

It was a normal day, sun was out a light breeze and surrounded by a load of people. I was currently at the train station. My name is Ryuuto I'm a 28 year old working at an old cafe. I was on my way to work so I took the fastest route the train. When I finally arrived the train had just left. "No! Crap what now!" I shouted cause I knew some of my pay would be deducted if I was late.

I ran as fast as I could to get to work on time then while I was crossing, a car came out of no where and I got hit, it wasn't anything server, but I did break my rib and fractured my leg, after another minute I passed out from the pain.

When I woke up I wasn't at work or the hospital but in a tight and cramped space. My body hurts all over and I started coughing a little blood. "HELP!... Someone anyone help me! "I shouted repeatedly, but deep down I knew that this was the end for me.

When I felt the bag move I hit the ground hard that my head started bleeding. I passed out again in 2 minutes this time. Before I passed out I cried saying " well I was a good for nothing... I guess I had this coming... I wish.. I could've done more.. In life. I felt something cold hit the top of the bag and knew instantly that I was gonna be buried alive. This was when the blood leaked so much that I finally passed out.

When I woke up I couldn't even feel my body. Hell I didn't even have a body. I couldn't speak cause I didn't have a mouth to talk my body was about the same size and shape of a soccer ball.

Not knowing what to do I shouted deep in my head " what the f*** is this! Where am I! Didn't I die!. The moment my shouting ended a voice screamed in my head "shut the hell up boy! If you dare scream again I'll erase you from existence".

I didn't know what to say so I looked around but the only thing in front of me was a old looking giant throne everything else around me was just light. Curious about the voice I shouted again, but at the throne this time "who are you! Do you know where I am! ". A loud voice came from the throne " boy I thought I told you not to shout yet you dare disobey me".

The voice sounded full of anger, but I wasn't afraid instead I spoke more politely and said " My apologies, but I am confused please tell me where am I, am I alive and why do I look like this". The voice replied " I am glad you finally show respect!For that alone I'll answer your questions lost soul you do not understand that where you are now is a heavenly plain that only gods and goddesses may enter. I do not know why you are here cause ordinary souls wither in this plain. "

When I heard that I saw that slowly the light alluminating from my body was slowly dying. So I asked " please! Help me I do not want to disappear I do not want this. " The being speaking from the throne descended he looked like a little boy with silver hair that looked like the moon, his eyes were big and the same color as the ocean. Be flew in front of me and said " I am a forgotten god, a god who used to destroy worlds and make new worlds, however a millennia ago I was sealed here for my body to slowly die and disappear. " a look of sadness fell over his face as he told me this.

I then asked "So you were sealed here and then forgotten.Who was it that sealed you. " I was curious and asked this. He replied with "...The god of life and the god of death along with the goddess of love & endurance. "He said with a frown and angered look.

I apologized to him, because it must've been a sensitive subject. Then I noticed that his body started to crack. I asked " What's happening to you! Are you ok! ". He replied with" yes... I'm alright the process of of being forgotten is that my body will slowly break apart the same will happen to you so go ! Leave before you end up like me! "He said this while shaking I could see the little boy in front of me was scared.

When I saw this I stayed and said" No! I can't just leave you I lived a life in endless cycle, I couldn't escape it until finally I died, your just like me aren't you, don't you want to live,to survive. "I said this not caring about formality.

He then said "...What else can I do... It's not like I can leave this place. " he said this while tears came down his face. I didn't know how to comfort someone who been alone for so long. So I took his hand and gave him a hug trying to calm him down and said " Don't worry I'm sure there's a way I'll stay here until I find a way. "

While saying this I saw that there was a chain connected to his back so I asked " Is this the seal that's been keeping you here? " he nodded his head he did not want to talk about it he told me that if he did the seal would suffocate him to the point were death is better. So I didn't ask anymore about it and instead went to the source of the chain.

What I saw was more horrifying than anything I've seen in my life. It was his heart and it was still beating. I put the pieces together and asked him" Is the seal to keep your heart here so you don't go anywhere " He nodded his head and started to feel anxious.

I didn't know what to do so I tried taking his heart from where it was sealed, but it wouldn't budge an inch. So I asked him " Isn't there another way to free you ?.. Anyway. ". He finally replied and said" there is one way, but you might die if we did it"

I didn't know what to say, but I know I couldn't leave him here. So I told him"I don't care what happens to me, but if you end up dead and I just walk away I wouldn't be able to handle the guilt. "

He finally stopped shedding tears and said"thank you... I owe you so much when this process is done I will reincarnate with you. When we reincarnate I'll give some of my power as a gift, but it's not alot . "I replied with " Ok, but are you sure? " He nodded his head and touched me to continue the process. I heard the chain break and saw his heart turn to dust, the chain then flew to me and connected with me.

He then said " Quickly move your soul is going to deteriorate faster than before... Move! " I moved as fast as I could and finally saw a bright light I front of me. Before going into the portal of bright light he stopped and told me" when we reincarnate we will be separated, so I hope that we meet again and also I never told you but my name is Ajin when we reincarnate and if we meet each other call me that so I know it's you. " I  nodded and said " goodbye and may we meet in the next life. " after that we jumped into the portal made of light not knowing what our futures hold...
