Sofia and Audrey didn't bother us for another 4 weeks.
Perhaps they were trying to regroup for the new term, or they were marinating in their recent defeats. Yasmina, Isa and I made a joint Instagram account to post our pictures as a trio, our bond growing stronger by the day. What made me happy was that Yasmina was slowly opening up to me, letting me know more about what she likes doing and what she's interested in. Heck, she was kind enough to invite me to her house in two weeks, a place I've never been to before. Hopefully this just gets us closer than we already are.
Yasmina vibed to Slumber Party by Ashnikko while sitting on her bed, bopping her head back and forth like a barbie doll. I guess this was her way of preparing for a big game; for the past two weeks, Yasmina managed to get on the basketball team, and their first game is in a week's time. I'm happy for her, and I can't wait to see her shine through it like I know she will. We've had a calm start to term two, and hopefully, it'll remain calm throughout the term. There's nothing I'd hate more than drama again.
"Have you ever thought about what Ashnikko was thinking when she wrote slumber party?" Yas asked, putting her hairbrush down. "Like it's my official gay anthem at this point."
"I didn't know you were gay," I joked.
Yasmina got off her bed and grabbed the hairbrush, singing to the chorus of the song while approaching me. "Me and your girlfriend playing dress-up at your house."
I stood up and sang with her, twirling her around as Ashnikko began her second verse. Jumping up and down with Yas, I held her by the waist and danced with her, fighting for control of the hairbrush till it fell, making us burst into laughter as the song ended.
"I'm shy," I laughed as Yas hugged me. "I'm so shy."
Yas pushed me off of her and walked back to her bed, pausing the music. "See what I mean by Ashnikko being a literary genius? She's amazing."
"It's not like she's the only artist out there," I joked again, sitting back on my bed as Yas switched off her phone.
"No, but she's amongst one of the greats, Kendall." She winked.
"Ever heard of the artist girl in red? Now she's my gay awakening," I explained. "I remember hearing 'we fell in love in october' when October was just about to end. I think I only started listening to her because of the song and the impact it had on me."
"What did it do? Encourage you to smash your ex just like Bryson Tiller's music wants us to do?" She laughed.
"I wish it was that, but she helped me get my first girlfriend," I elaborated. "Liliana was a fan of hers, so I waited in the lounge and blasted serotonin throughout the room, asking her to be my girlfriend."
Yasmina smiled. "Wow, that was so sweet. Why didn't you do that for me?"
"It's not like we became good friends on a good note, Yasmina."
"I know, but now that I'm your fake girlfriend I'm sure you can show me some affection. I mean, isn't that how this works? We kiss and make up for the public eye to see?" She raised a brow.
"I mean yeah it does work like that, but you never asked me to do that for you."
"She didn't ask."
"And remember the last time I tried to publicly love you? You bit my lip and locked me out of the room," I reminded her.
"Well you kissed me against my will."
"I literally told you what I was about to do. Plus Sofia was giving you shit about your injury, I had to. What type of girlfriend would I be if I didn't?"
