Laying in bed I felt a bit sore. I'm not sure if it's from transforming into a wolf or if I was just feeling the exhaustion from Alex running for hours but I was drained. Shalom was still sound asleep so I slipped out of bed and into the next room. "Alex?" I called to her in my head. "Yea? What are you doing up?" She asked clearly feeling the after affects of last night as well. "I'm anxious to know what the hell all that was about last night. You said he demanded you to shift" she paused for a moment before she responded. "It's hard to explain..But I'm pretty sure he's an Alpha.. which doesn't make sense if he was an alpha his pack Alpha should've known right? And he wouldn't have been able to just join a pack even if he was young he would've been forced to challenge the alpha or they would've tried to kill him...but seeing as he doesn't know about his father we can't be sure he even was aware...but Harlou knew for sure." She said almost at a whisper. Remembering they can hear her. "Ok but what does that have to do with last night?" I said Unsure of where this all fits in. "If he's an alpha then that means we are his Luna.. but it also means he has more power than maybe he or we...I realized when i was having trouble shifting last night it wasn't anything I was doing wrong I'd never done it before..if I hadn't with time and training I would've learned to shift on my own naturally...but the best way I can explain it is Harlou has some sort of power only alphas posses, when he saw I was having trouble shifting he demanded me to shift. It's a command and by law..by nature my body was forced to listen causing me to shift even though we weren't ready or capable of doing so." She said seemingly frustrated. "For fucks sake!" I exlclaimed. "Hey, you alright?" Shalom spoke coming around the corner he might've been eavesdropping but at this point I might as well be forward about it. "Did you know you were an alpha?" I said folding my arms. I didn't quite understand everything yet but from the pain I felt last night after the shift I didn't like the fact they forced us to shift when we weren't ready. "No..but after last night Harlou told me. I was angry he didn't tell me before but he said there wasn't ever a point before seeing as we hadn't found our mate. If I'd known I never would've-" he paused dropping his head. "It seems there's a lot of things we don't know on both of our ends but if we're doing this we need to all be in on this." I said determined. "You wanna do this now??" Alex almost shouts. Shalom head shot up and he made eye contact with me. He didn't say anything he just took his shirt off as if he already understood what I meant. He turned and walked back towards the bed and sat down. I took a step toward him and I could feel my teeth elongate and my blood began to warm. "Wait, if your ready to mark me I want it done my way at least." He said pulling me on top of him with a smirk. He kissed me deep nicking the tip of his tongue with one of my fangs. "Bad kitty!" Harlou hissed between his teeth. Returning my teeth to normal I explored his mouth and I could taste a bit of metal from the blood and it made me quiver for some reason. I got this sudden urge to rip him out of what clothes he had left and take him right then and there. I felt hungry for him. He pulled my shirt up over my head nipping my skin and sucking behind each bite. It was driving me mad. Before I knew it we were both naked and panting and I was straddling him. I hadn't taken him like this before and it made him feel bigger and deeper. Lifting and lowering my body at a steady pace I could feel myself getting hot and it felt like electricity was running through my body. He was supporting my weight from underneath my legs and his veins in his arms were protruding as he dug his nails into my skin. I began to feel that oh so familiar pressure building and on instinct I leaned forward and kissed his neck he tilted his head to one side exposing his neck to me giving me access. Alex growled within my chest as my orgasm came to a head and at the same time I sunk my fangs into his neck and on cue he found his relief grabbing a hand full of my hair while holding me tight. I let go and licked the blood off and his wound began to heal, but there were two small crosses were my fangs pierced. I planted a soft kiss on his lips and looked him in the eye smiling. "Your a natural little one" a deep voice said in my head. But Shalom's mouth didn't move. "Hello Harlou" I said mockingly rolling to one side of Shalom's body. "Can I talk to him?" I asked Alex I know she couldn't exactly leave the room so to speak but I wanted to speak with him without any distractions. "Fine I'm tired any way" she laughed. Hinting to the moment we had seconds ago. "I don't know where to start." I said pausing. "Then I will". He said reassuringly. "I overheard you talking about us being an alpha, that much is true but Shalom really didn't know. I've known since I awakened in his conscious but I can't exactly tell you or him much about our father just that being an alpha isn't just a title passed down it's passed on through generations of alpha's meaning more than likely our father was an alpha. It also means neither one of us can join a pack unless one of us dies which isn't going to happen anytime soon werewolf's live a very long time and nothings going to happen to either of us as long as I can help it. But I do know that you are our Luna. And now that we've found you nothing else matters. I pondered everything he said but something still bothered me. "So what about last night...Alex said you commanded us to shift.." I said sitting up crossing my legs. "I can't exactly tell you where it comes from but it's a power most alphas possess we have the ability to control our mates and those of our packs..if we had one. But within reason there are alphas out there who abuse that power to gain control. I only commanded her to shift because it'd be easier after the first shift and I could tell she was having trouble doing so. I know it hurt like hell but it only hurts the first time. After that it's nothing." He said sitting up on the edge of the bed. "Ok, now what do we do?" I asked concerned. Are we going to start our own pack? Will it just be me and him? Does he want a pack? Do I? "Well first things first we, find this family member of yours and go from there they must know something. We packed up our things and left the inn. Making a few stops along the way it felt like it took forever before we finally came to a small town. It seemed desolate. There were a few people walking around but for the most part it looked empty. "We can stop here for food and drinks but we'll have to walk the rest of the way." Alex called to us. "I'll go grab us some things why don't you go see if they have any backpacks." Shalom said before walking off. There was a small thrift store in the middle of the town it seemed to still be open. Walking in smelled like old people and moth balls. There wasn't much to be seen but I found some bags right away. I checked out with small older woman at the counter. Leaving the store I was stopped in my tracks a strong familiar sent wafted past me. "What is that?" Alex asked sensing it too. "I don't know but for some reason I know it from somewhere like a distant memory." I tried searching for the sent when someone grabbed my shoulder almost making me jump out of my skin. "Hey, it's ok it's just me butterfly..you ok" Shalom said steadying me with both hands on my shoulder's . "I think I'm fine.. I just- I could've swore I smelled something. But it was familiar. Like-" I paused. "Like you could smell someone?" Shalom finished my sentence. I just started at him unsure of what that meant. "Let's go." Pulling me in the direction of a pathway and looking over his shoulder. "Walk fast" he mind linked me. "What why?" I said startled. "I think someone is following us. Typically you don't just catch a familiar sent like that- it's another wolf just because you've smelled it before doesn't mean it's someone you know or is safe." He sped up almost jogging before we came to a cross in the path. Hearing a twig snap in one direction I spun around. Before I could respond a brown shadow sped past me almost knocking me over. Harlou let out a loud growl pulling me behind him looking around. "Alex!" He called. "Yea go right" she directed thankfully we were going in the opposite direction. It seemed like we weren't being followed after running for about ten minutes we stopped to catch our breath. "How do you know we're going the right way if you can't remember anything?" Shalom asked. I was wondering the same thing but hadn't had a chance to voice that concern. "It's almost like a feeling it's hard to explain. Like once you've been somewhere a few times it's almost like muscle memory I just do..." she replied although still sounding uncertain. We found our way back to a path through the forest but it seemed like we were in the middle of no where. As we walked I started to smell burned firewood a clear indication of hopefully a campfire or a house. A sign that someone was out here. We came to a clearing and in the middle sat a small cottage. I could almost recall seeing it before but I couldn't put my finger on it. We walked closer but halted in our tracks as the door swung open. Standing in its frame was a large man with short cropped auburn hair just above his ear. He stood there frozen in place starting at me as a tear formed in his eyes. "Dad..." I called out almost in a whisper the words falling from my lips before I could think. He ran from the steps barreling into me embracing me in a tight hug. He smelled like pine and musk but the familiar sent hit a part of my memory that I couldn't pull forward but it gave me a sense of comfort. "Dad! What are you doing?! How???" Alex shouted in my head. He stepped back taking in my face like it was the last time he'd see it. "Lily I thought..." his tears welling up again as he embraced me again. He looked over to Shalom who just shrugged his shoulders awkwardly. Before he pretended to clear his throat. My dad let me go drawing his attention to Shalom who I don't think he realized was standing there. "Who are you?" his voice gruff and harsh. "Uh I'm Shalom.. Lily's mate" before he had time to say another word my dad embraced him with the same bear hug. As if he were a lost son. Pulling away and taking a step back he cleared his throat. "I'm so sorry I just..Lily I thought you were dead" I sputtered in shock and confusion with everything that's happened I thought the same for him. "Come in the house I want to know what you've been up to" I followed him in disbelief did he not know what happened to me? I couldn't remember the last time I saw him so I'm not sure if he understood the circumstances surrounding what happened to me. He sat us by the fire in his living room and stepped into the kitchen to get us something to drink. "Are you sure he's your father?" Shalom asked eyeing the kitchen suspiciously. "I had a dream about him. It felt more like a memory but I know it's him he has the same scar and I can see my features in his." I reassured him. Even Alex knew it was him there was no mistaking it. He returned with 3 glasses and a plate of cookies. I started down the long road of everything that's happened at least from what I could remember. Sipping my tea every now and again my throat feeling like sand paper. My mind was muddled with a million different things but most of all. "Where have you been? I mean have you been here all this time did you not look for us?" I asked trying not to let my emotions get the better of me. "Lily there's a lot you don't understand." He said reaching for my hand when I pulled away. "Then help me understand!" I shouted standing as I did feeling like My body was on fire. "Lily... I thought you were dead sweetie. When Naomi took you I searched for years. Every lead came up dead. It was like she vanished into thin air." He said running his fingers through his hair. "What do you mean she took me?" Was I kidnapped? I feel like running as I become more confused. But I need to know the truth. "A long time ago before your grandmother had me. She was apart of a pack but it was when the old ways were absolute before female mates had the right to decide if they could walk down the street alone. Her and her mother were voodoo practitioners, Healers. The pact they were in was ran by a man named Mathias and his mate Naomi. They had a son Luther" he paused taking a breath, starring off while recalling a memory. "years down the line she had me. On the day of my 3rd birthday a group of obayifo attacked their town." He stopped as I interrupted. "obayifo?" I questioned. "Vampires..." I cocked my head to one side unable to believe it. This world that I am apart of is that out of a fairytale or a freaking horror movie. "Anyway they attacked. your grandmother and her mother fought with the pack as best as they could but your great grandmother got severely hurt in the process they just kept coming and after a while they were surrounded. Your great grandmother wouldn't have made it so she made your grandmother cast a spell to eradicate the remaining Obayifo using a sacrificial spell. She thought it killed them all but a few escaped and found their way to the pack house where all the children were hiding. Luther was 7 they attacked killing a few children and elderly that were there before backup came. By the time they did There were just me and a few others clinging on to life Luther was one of them. Since your grandma all but exhausted her magic in the fight she only had enough power left to save one child. With her mother gone it's all she could manage. So she did what any mother would do she saved me." He said running a hand along the scar on his face. Naomi was enraged, and she had every right to be. Luther was her only son and she had to watch him die. But she blamed your grandmother. Said that she might as well have been the one to kill him because she let him die. After that your grandma took me and left. When you came along your grandmother told me she was having premonitions about Naomi. That she was near and out for revenge. She'd say that every year you turned another age up until she died. When you were 13 I went out for a run. When your grandmother appeared before me. Like a ghost. She shouted at me to run back. And I instantly knew. By the time I got home the house wash trashed and you were gone. I got word from other wolves here and there that they saw her with you but after a while no one had seen you but they kept seeing her. I just assumed she'd killed you." Wait you said 13?.. I'm 23..." I said feeling my heart sink to my stomach. "I can't account for any of that time" I said feeling lost "I didn't even remember this is where he was" Alex chimed in..." I put my head in my hands feeling a sense of dread. All the emotions that I had running around in my mind came crashing into me at once and I felt like breaking. I need to get my memories back. I don't even remember what she looked like, what my mother looked like. I have to do something.
