(//CW, TW: Ableism, Body shaming)

writing something related to those themes is out of my comfort zone. this is the first time i'm about to write something related to that as lightly as I could to progress and shed new light on our two characters as a whole. if you want to skip those parts, feel free to do so. they are the flashback sequences (the ones that are in italicized form) that I wanted to add in an attempt to emphasize the struggles we as people go through during unfortunate circumstances.

raine and eda are strong characters and the purpose of those flashbacks is to express how the things that had hurt them in their lives happen for a reason to favor the good things that will happen next.

and they happened.

(5 YEARS BEFORE)

Being twenty-five had its perks and lows.

There is the long-awaited independence after years of studying in preparation for adulthood and then there were the lows: finding a job for the first time.

With Raine's profession barely attainable in Latissa, Bonesborough was the main option. It was the main latter and the most reliable choice they could ever think of thanks to influences and stories they took to heart and kept in mind.

Bonesborough was the place they wanted to take part in for this next chapter in their life. This is the first time they got to visit the city, the first time they traveled by train far from their hometown with their mentor, the first time they finally gained the guts to step into the new territory of young adulthood, and the first time they get to be able to decide on ways on how to strive on their own.

Experiencing only a day and a few hours of nervous fidgeting and foot tapping on their spot since they got here, for the first time in ever their confidence was right there by their side unrightfully so.

Crane had left them on their own, wishing them the best of luck, and reminded Raine to give him a call after this interview. The interviewer had called their name and it was all set, going inside the private space of the professional's office.
