Lexi
Ominis and I sat in the great hall at lunch talking about our herbology assignment. It's been four days since the forest incident and it still lingers in my mind. He looked like he recognized me but I know he wasn't one of the centers I saw last year. Soon Sebastian and Asher joins us. Sebastian sat across from me and Asher across from Ominis.
"So I've had a thought." Sebastian started.
"Oh no." Ominis interjected causing me to chuckle.
"I swear it's a good one this time." Sebastian put his hand up in defense.
"Ok well spit it out." I said waving my hand.
"The plant we need for this herbology assignment. The one she said we needed to buy."
"The one that is mostly sold out by now." Asher added.
"Thanks. Anyways I know where they grow. That way..."
"We wouldn't have to send galleons!" Ominis finished.
"Seb are you actually being helpful?" I laughed. "Where is it?"
"Actually really close to feldcroft. It's this old cave. No one's been in it for centuries. And Lex here has had a lot of experience with caves so I figured why not."
"So I'm just living last year all over again?"
"Well not the killing a goblin-dragon part of course. I wouldn't even know where to find one." Seb smiled. "So what do you say princess?"
"I don't know maybe we should just..." Ominis was interrupted by Sebastian.
"Omi I haven't called you princess since 3rd year defense against the dark arts class." Sebastian chuckled.
"Sound like an adventure and you know I never turn down an adventure." I smiled.
Using floo powder we made it to feildcroft. Said village was still dark and gloomy, obviously the events of last year still had its effect on it.
"Seb when was the last time you were here?" Asher asked as the passed his old home. The flowers in the garden has wilted away. Cobwebs covered the door and windows.
"When Omi and I found the note Anna left we immediately came to you. So 4 months."
The memory of the beginning of summer hit me like a train. Miriam and Fig had no children to pass along everything to. So apparently when Fig meet me and my brother, he changed his will for everything to go to us. Meaning we got a summer home in London. Which was great but also sad. But having a home even if it was an empty shell of what it once was. It was still home. We kept everything the same. I did some cleaning, putting books back in the library that Fig had scattered about. The pictures i dusted, actually seeing what Miriam looked like brought me joy. Watching the moving photos of the couple throughout the years. From teenage to old, you could see the love for one another had never faded. Not even for a moment. The silence however that was enough to drive me mad. Asher loved silence, I however hated it. But as things always do it didn't last for long cuz someone had knocked on the door. When i opened it I wasn't surprised to see my two best friends. Sebastian didn't say a word, his eyes red from the crying he's been doing. Once he saw me he wrapped his arms around my waist. He needed to a hug. He needed me to hug him. Flinging my arms around his neck the tall boy buried his head into my neck.
"Mind if we stay for a bit." Ominis said breaking the silence. He too wanted to cry, but no he didn't. He knew that if he did Sebastian would lose hope. As did I.
"My door is always open for my boys."
Snapping out of the memory when they made the trek up to the cave.
"If my memory serves me correctly, the plant shouldn't be far." Sebastian said.
"We're doomed." Ominis blankly stated.
"It's like you don't trust me Omi." Sebastian pouted.
"You have a track record!" Ominis nearly screamed making Sebastian mouth go wide.
"He's not wrong." Asher smiled.
The laugh the erupted from me was the hardest I had laughed in a long time. "Omi you just need to know that he looks you just kicked his puppy." I laughed as tears formed in the corner of my eyes.
"Are we going in or not?" Sebastian asked getting slightly annoyed.
"Merlin, boys let's go!" I said walking into the cave first.
Asher
"It so dark in here I can't see a thing." Sebastian complained.
"Geez can't imagine how that feels." Ominis sarcastically said.
"Omi the blind jokes again." I wined.
"Lumos" Lexi casted, making a little light from her wand. "I swear if you boys don't stop we will turn around right now." As she walked forward the ground beneath her caved in. Taking her down with it.
"Lexi!" Sebastian yelled running to where the ground caved in.
"What happened!?" Ominis asked only being able to hear the screams.
"Lexi fell through. Princess are you okay?" Sebastian yelled down.
"Yeah I'm fine. You guys get down here I found what we came for."
"Omi do you want to grab my hand to jump down?" I offered my hand.
"Usually I would say no but yeah cuz I have no idea where we are going."
It didn't take long for us to do the same tumble that Lexi did moments before.
"Seb are you sure that this is just a cave?" Lexi asked.
"Well I've never been this deep but I think. Why?"
"Because I see a tomb just through these spiderwebs."
"Just one normal year. Just one Lex that's all I ask for." I begged.
"Confringo!" She had enough experience with spiders to know exactly what to do.
"Lexi please stop." Ominis said following her. "I hear...."
"This is no tomb." Sebastian awed at the sight. A line of stone snake heads led to a giant bearded statue at the end of the room.
"What is this place?" Lexi asked walking forward but Ominis grabbed her arm and turning her to face him putting his hands on her shoulders.
"Stop moving, don't make a sound." Ominis shushed the girl. "I told you to stop. If you would have let me finish you would know that there is a snake in here. And it sounds like a big one. Of course only you can stumble onto one of the best kept secrets in Hogwarts history."
"Where are we?" Sebastian, Lexi, and I asked.
"Salazar Slytherin's very last thing he ever did at Hogwarts. The Chamber of Secrets."
