Lexi

Even though Ominis and Asher thought that I was reaching for something that wasn't there they still agreed to help me and Sebastian. Spending all day in the library was a change of pace for us. Usually we are all wondering around doing our own things and exploring the castle. If we were ever all in the same place sitting quietly it was either in the UnderCroft or the common room.

I stretched my back in the chair having it crack a couple of times.

"You know you would think a school of magic would have better chairs." I complained.

"Lexi let's face it. We are wasting our time." Asher said closing the book he was reading and slamming in on the table causing Ominis, who had fallen asleep about an hour ago, to jump up.

"I'm sure if we..."

"Lexi Oletha Porter! There is nothing to be found we've been searching for hours. You need to let it go. Have a normal school year like a normal kid." Asher scolded me.

"He's right Lex." Ominis spoke up. "That centaur was dying. People say strange things before they die."

"But the dreams..."

"Are just dreams. Maybe you should speak to the nurse. She can conjure you something to help you sleep."

"No I'm not crazy." I protested.

"Princess no one said you were." Sebastian started. "But no one has ever gone what you went through last year. Maybe you are just overthinking all this."

"You're giving up on me now?" I sighed in disbelief. "What happened to I followed you last year so now it's your turn?" He just hung his head. "Ok you know what you three can just give up and go. I'll figure this out on my own."

"Lex...." Ominis started but I cut him off.

"I said go."

And with that I was alone with one lantern lit grabbing the next book tearing it open I began to read another dead end again.

Asher

"I just don't get it. Why is she so hell bent on this?" I said as the boys and I sat around the windows in the common room.

"Lexi genuinely believes that her nightmares will come true. It's haunting her." Ominis said.

"You know I get it. I get my sister is special. I get that she saved the entire wizarding world last year. But I've spent my whole life trying to protect her. What if she goes down a dark path and I can't find her?" Truly I was just speaking out loud, I knew nothing really made since given the context but I didn't care.

"Lexi's smart." Sebastian spoke. "If she does she can pull herself back. She did it last year."

It was no secret in our little group that Sebastian and Lexi went down a path last year that Ominis and I didn't agree with. It took me a long time to forgive them, especially Sebastian. He nearly got Lexi and I killed.

"I just want her to have a normal life. We never had one as kids and now we are here. I'm getting one and I want her to experience that." I shook my head, staring out of the window at the gray fish swimming about.
