Things took a turn when Luz Noceda was six years old. Her father, Manny Noceda, had gotten sick, so Camila and Manny decided it was time to move from Montera, Columbia, to Gravesfield, Connecticut, in the United States of America. Once they were there, they went to the nearest hospital for Manny's surgery. However, the surgery failed, and Manny developed subcombination. At the new house, Camila sat down with her daughter Luz, trying to find a way to lift her spirits after the devastating loss of her father. She took a deep breath and began to tell her about the Madrigal family without telling her that they were her family.

"Luz, I want to tell you about the Madrigal family," Camila said. "They were a family with special abilities, and they used their powers to help others."

Luz asked her mother, "Do you have any special abilities?" "What do you mean?"

Camila smiled and explained, "Each member of the Madrigal family had a unique power." Lusia had the power of strength,"

"My middle name is Lusia; did you name me after her?" Luz interrupts Camila. Camila didn't know how to respond.

"Uh, yeah, I guess so." "Your father and I just really like the name," Camily lied. But she continued with the story.

"Isabela had the powers of flowers and thorns; Juileta had the power of healing, and there were others with different powers as well."

Luz leaned in, fascinated. "What kind of powers did the others have, Mimi?"

Camila continued, "Well, there was Agustin, who was Juileta's husband, but he had no powers."

"He was a loving husband who supported her in her healing work."

Felix was married to Pepa, who had the power of the weather. She could summon rain, lightning, and wind to help the family.

"Camilo had the power of shapeshifting. He could turn into any animal to defend his family.

"Bruno had the power of prophecy. He could see into the future and warn his family of danger.

"Dolorus had the power of hearing. She could hear even the faintest of sounds and use them to help her family.

Antonio had the power to make animals speak. He could communicate with any animal and enlist their help.

And finally, there was Alma, the grandmother. "She had wisdom and knowledge that she passed down to her family."

Luz was amazed by the variety of powers in the Madrigal family. "Did they ever use their powers to help others, Mimi?" "Like Azuara?"

Camila nodded and said, "Yes, they did." They were always there for each other and helped those in need. "They were a strong and loving family, and they relied on their abilities to protect each other."

Luz sat quietly for a moment, processing everything her mother had told her. "Do you think I have any special powers, Mimi?"

Camila smiled warmly and said, "You don't need a special power to be amazing, Luz." You are strong and brave, just like your father was. "And I'll always be here to support and love you, no matter what."

Luz smiled back at her mother, feeling a little lighter after hearing about the Madrigal family. She knew that her father was gone, but she also knew that her mother would always be there for her, just like the Madrigal family had been there for each other.
