(Who knew someone could look so good smoking a cigar?)
Paisleigh
I pull away from Sam seeing none other than Joe Burrow standing behind him. "So you must be the friend my mother was talking about" I say sticking my handout never did I notice how insanely blue his eyes were or how that one curl just falls perfectly in front of his forehead "Hi I'm Joe, you must be Paisleigh right?" he said shaking my hand, god they're smooth as a baby's bottom. "That would be me and of course I know who you are Mr. Burrow" I said almost instantly regretting it. Who says that? Great going Pais! He starts to laugh pulling his hand away from mine when my mom says "Pais can you come help me set the table please?" I walk over "Mom why didn't you tell me it was Joe who was coming over?" I said low enough for only her to hear "Didn't think it was that big of a deal" she shrugs acting as if she doesn't have the number one quarterback standing in our house
-At dinner-
We all started eating the salad, we're Italian so you know we have to start with the soup, the salad, the whole nine yards (a/n: I don't actually know if Sam is Italian) when my dad speaks up "So Joe and Sam how do you boys feeling about the up coming season?" he looks at them both making us all look at them. "We are feeling really good thinking we can bring home a Super Bowl win finally" Sam says confidently.
That is one thing I always admired about my older brother is how confident he is in himself. I have always been an over thinker and tend to think of the worse. I was this way when I auditioned for the dance studio I dance in currently and probably how I will be when I audition for Joffrey. "So Pais what's new with you?" Sam asks breaking me out of my thoughts "Well I've been going to the studio almost everyday of the week working on my audition solo for Joffrey" I said getting excited about it "You're still thinking about that silly dream?" my dad asks making us all look at him. I am used to this from my parents, they always doubt that I will make it the only one whoever believed was Sam. "Yeah I am..." I start to say till my mom interrupts "Paisleigh you need to let that fantasy go Joffrey is one of the most advanced ballet schools in the country."
Hearing that almost broke my heart making me tear up and look down at my plate "will you excuse me?" I say low getting up running up to the bathroom before I begin to hear Sam tell my parents to stop putting me dreams down
Joe
After hearing how Sam's parents talk to Paisleigh kind of shocked me. Every time I had met them they seemed so genuine and nice, yet I have always only seen them around Sam never Paisleigh. In the mist of Sam talking to his parents about how they need to stop putting her dreams down I walk away and go to the bathroom Paisleigh is in knocking."Paisleigh? You good in there?" I say standing outside the door not wanting to walk in and freak her out. I soon hear sniffling and moving around before she opens the door. As much as she is trying to hide the fact she was crying you could tell she was. She looks kind of cute when she cries. No Joe knock it off, that's your best friends sister, I think to myself. "Yeah I'm fine, I should be used to this by now" she says laughing a bit before sitting on the steps and I join her "You shouldn't though why don't they support your dreams like they do with Sam?" I asked "I don't know it's always been this way ever since I decided it's what I wanted to do" she says looking down. Hearing that breaks my heart.
No parent should be doing that to their kid. They should be supportive no matter what they decide to do. I wrap my arm around her shoulders to comfort her "I know you don't know me well but I think that's an amazing dream to have" I say looking at her as she looks up at me and smiles "Thanks Joe." It's then when I realize how close we are and looking at her like this makes me want to lean in but I can't. Not especially when we hear.
"What's going on here?"
Paisleigh
The sound of my brothers voice snaps me out of the trance I was in looking at Joe and making me move away. "Nothing" I say standing up "I have to go anyways I have to get up early for dance class anyways" I walk down the stairs giving Sam a hug. His hugs are always the best, like a big teddy bear, which is exactly what I needed "Thanks Sam" I say pulling away "Anything for you sis" he says ruffling my hair making me give him my look which causes him to pull his hands away and put them up in like a 'ok sorry' kind of way. I walk to my parents saying goodbye to them and grab my phone and keys walking to the door.
