Protected (Gally, The Maze Runner)

Three

I woke up in a hut, but it wasn't Minhos hut and i wasn't in my bed.

I rubbed my cheek because of the memories from last night coming back.

"Get yourself together Hazel." I ran my hands through my hair.

I then laced up my boots and went out of the hut. all of the chatter died down once the boys saw me.

"What's wrong with you shanks? Get back to-" Gally stopped when he saw me, "Hazel,"

"Get to work." Newt finished for Gally then came over to me.

"You can head over to the med-jacks if you want. They're already expecting you." He said.

I nodded, "Uhm, w-where's Franky?" I asked. It sent shivers down my arms just saying his name.

"He's in confinement. Alby is hosting a meeting later to decide his punishment. Nothing like this has happened before so there's gonna be some new rules. From now on, we want one of the leaders with you at all times. Im on first shift." Newt smiled sympathetically.

"Okay, and who's hut was I in?" I asked.

"Oh, Gally didn't want to leave you alone in Minhos since we spent half the night looking for Franky so he took you into his. Never seen that boy act like that before, you'd think someone has a crush." Newt chuckled.

I looked over to Gally and he quickly looked away from me, I couldn't help but to blush.

"Oh no Hazel, you can do what you want but I will not let you fawn over Gally." Newt said in a big brotherly tone.

"But, I just feel safe around him." I haven't taken my eyes off him.

Newt put his hand to my head, "Maybe we should get you to the med-jacks, you are out of your mind." Newt tugged me away from Gally's hut and to a bigger one.

"Just come back after dinner so I can change the bandages so it doesn't get infected." Clint told me.

Franky sliced my lip when he slapped me and I have a bruise on my face and my arms from when he held me against the tree. My back is cut up from the tree but it's nothing compared to Frankys face. Gally did a number on him last night and apparently so did Newt. Minho had to pry newt off him.

"Okay, Thanks." I hugged Clint then stood up.

"Hey, they want everyone at the meeting." one of the boys popped into the hut.

"Be right there." Newt said.

"You don't have to go, Hazel." Clint said softly.

I shook my head no, "I want him to see what he did. I want to see when they decide what to do with him. I need closure."

The boys nodded then we made our way to the meeting.

"Now that everyone is here, lets get started." Alby said.

I walked in and just stood in the back.

"If you don't already know, our newest greenie was attacked last night while everyone was asleep," everyone turned around and looked at me. Gally especially looked angry with Franky and he looked ready to pounce any second, "Franky has been here for awhile so he knows the rules. Never hurt another glader" Alby said.

"What about Newt and Gally?! They punched me, they know the rules." Franky snapped.

"You deserved it you dirty shank!" Gally stood up.

"I don't know what your girlfriend told you Gally, but she came onto me. Not the other way around. I had to stop it." Franky lied through his teeth.
