After a few days had passed, the night of the festival had finally arrived. Chuuya was more than excited, jumping up and down on his bed like an extremely happy child. He couldn't wait to go to the festival with Dazai, super excited for tonight.

Dazai, was in the other room, almost finished getting ready. He could hear Chuuya squealing like a happy kid in the other room, and couldn't help but find it adorable. He could tell the ginger had a huge obvious crush on him. He also knew the feelings were very mutual.

"Chuuya! C'mon! We're leaving!" Dazai shouted from the front door, impatiently tapping his foot on the ground for the boy to come out of his room already.

"I'm coming, dumbass! Don't rush me!" Chuuya shouted back, finally making his way to leave his room and meet the impatient brunette. He was wearing a beautiful red changshan and had his hair done with a butterfly hairpin attached to his hair.

The second Chuuya came out of his room, Dazai's mouth was left hanging open. Chuuya looked absolutely breathtaking.

He pulled the ginger boy into his embrace. "You look so beautiful, chibikko." It was the first time he had seen the boy in something so traditional and beautiful. He just couldn't restrain himself from touching him.

Chuuya immensely blushed, getting shy. He wanted to compliment Dazai back, but he didn't have the guts, as much as he did think Dazai looked very pretty right now. "Can we go now?"

"Of course we can," Dazai grinned and turned around so his back would be in display. He pointed to his back, gesturing to get onto it. "You want a piggyback ride?"

"A piggyback ride?" Chuuya confusedly asked. "What the hell is that?"

"You really didn't have a childhood, did you?" Dazai internally facepalmed, not bothering to give an explanation. "Just get on my back. It'll be fun."

Chuuya scowled at him, although he was curious. "But what is it...?"

Dazai smiled. "Don't ask any questions. It'll be fun, trust me," he promised. "I want to make you feel like a kid again, that's what I'm doing."

That last sentence made Chuuya feel butterflies. He shyly looked down at the ground.

Why the hell is that suicidal bastard so caring?

He finally gave in and decided he should give it a try. It seemed fun enough. "Fine, but if you drop me by accident... I'll fucking bite you," Chuuya warned.

"Don't worry, don't worry," Dazai chuckled at the cute warning, not feeling a tad bit intimidated. "I won't drop you."

Chuuya pouted and held his pinky out to Dazai. "You pinky promise?"

Dazai internally cooed from how cute Chuuya's request was. "I pinky promise," he interlocked their pinkies.

"I'm afraid you don't reach the minimum height to play this game, sir," the lady in front of the stand spoke to the ginger boy who looked like he was about to murder someone. Dazai had to bite his lip to prevent himself from laughing.

Chuuya shot daggers up at her. "Who the hell do you think you're talking to, old lady—" he quickly shut up when Dazai squeezed his hand, giving him a warning look to behave.

"I mean- s-sorry, I understand..." Chuuya apologized, wincing, although that apology was more directed to Dazai than it was to her. A sad pout formed on his face.
