Chapter Twenty One (Murder House)

Katherine is woken up by her curtains in her room being opened. '' Rise and shine. '' Vivien chirps. Katherine groans and covers herself with the bed sheet. '' I need you to drive me somewhere. '' Vivien sits on the bed, gently pulling the covers from Katherine's face.

'' On a Sunday? '' Katherine asks, her voice hoarse from lack of sleep. '' Mm-hmm. Here's the address. '' Vivien hands Katherine a slip of paper. '' What's there? '' The sleepy brunette, squinting at the messy handwriting.

'' Do you remember the ultrasound technician I told you about? The one who fainted. Well, the hospital called and gave me this address. '' Vivien tells her.

Katherine nods and gets dressed, seeing how important this is to Vivien.

Katherine studies the building in front of them as they pull up. '' A church. ''

'' Mmm, I wonder why she wants to meet here. '' Vivien says, furrowing her eyebrows. '' Come on. '' She gets out of the car and waits for Katherine.

They enter the church together and find Angela. They find her lighting some candles. '' Angela? '' Vivien asks, getting the woman's attention. '' Vivien, and this is Katherine. '' Angela avoids looking into Katherine's eyes, and takes a step away from both women.

'' Thank you so much for agreeing to meet with me. '' Vivien gives her a friendly smile, despite the looks she is giving Katherine.  '' Of course. '' Angela holds out her hand to stop Vivien getting closer to her. '' That's, uh, probably close enough. ''

Both Angela and Vivien take a seat, while Katherine stays standing. Vivien takes a hold of Katherine's hand, finding comfort in the young woman.

'' When the hospital gave me the address. I didn't realize it was a church. '' Vivien comments, looking around. '' It's where I feel safe. '' Angela responds, eyes darting to Vivien's stomach.

'' The hospital said you quit your job, but they didn't say why. I've been concerned because of the ultrasound and...'' Vivien pauses. '' They said that the machine malfunctioned, but...it seemed to me that you saw something that scared you. ''

'' Yes, and I've been praying about it ever since. '' Angela states. She then gives another fearful look at Vivien's stomach. '' I saw the unclean thing, what you carry in your womb. The plague of nations, the Beast. ''

Vivien shakes her head and stands up. '' Okay, so you didn't see anything. So...the machine malfunctioned. '' She concludes. '' It did not. '' Angela raises her voice, clearly disliking being called a  liar.. '' I saw the little hooves. ''

'' You need some help. '' Vivien scoffs. '' Come on, let's get out of here. '' Katherine pulls Vivien away. '' You shouldn't have to listen to this crazy bitch. ''

As they walk away and exit the church, Angela raises her voice at them. '' And the woman was full of the filthiness of her fornication! The mother of harlots and abominations of the Earth! '' She pauses, eyes locking onto Katherine's figure. '' You! You will burn in the flames of your sins! And arise from the ashes to feed on the blood of the innocent! '' She yells.

Vivien and Ben sit in the clinic waiting for the results on the baby. '' I still don't understand why Katherine is here. '' Ben says, once again, not hiding his blatant dislike for the young woman.
