It's been several weeks since the confession, and she still hadn't talked to Kiri because the younger girl was still avoiding her. So she decided to take a step back and leave the newcomers alone.

If she needed to interact with Jake or any of the Sullys, she kept it short and necessary.

Thankfully, she was busy with her duties for the last few weeks that she rarely saw the newcomers around.

Tawn walked to the edge of the shore and called for an ilu. She figured it'd be a good time to hunt on her own. That way, her mind wasn't crowded with unwanted thoughts about a certain someone.

She got a spear and a fishing basket in each of her hands, ready to catch some fish for today's dinner.

She watched an ilu emerge from the beautiful turquoise water and chirped at its rider. Tawn smiled at the animal while grabbing her tswin, preparing to bond with the ilu.

"Tawn!"

She dropped her braid down and turned to the voice. She smiled at the omaticayan boy, "I see you, Neteyam," she greeted, touching her forehead.

Neteyam did the same thing and ran towards her with a saddle and a spear in both his hands, "by any chance, are you going to hunt too?" Tawn asked.

Neteyam nodded excitedly, "mind if I come with you?" he asked.

Tawn offered him a smile and shook her head, "no, not at all."

He grinned and called out an ilu.

Tawn took this moment to form a tsaheylu with her ilu and then mount it, ensuring she got the fish basket's handle securely on her shoulder.

She looked back at Neteyam, "are you ready?" she asked the boy.

Neteyam adjusted his seat on the ilu and tightened his hold on his spear before nodding.

Tawn clicked her tongue, making the ilu move forward, coursing through the water and diving down the beautiful clear water. She would never get tired of seeing the corals of her home.

She didn't realise how much she missed this feeling of freedom. The feeling of pure happiness, taking in the fresh ocean breeze, the wind brushing through her hair, and the smell of the ocean filled her sense.

She looked back at Neteyam, who was enjoying himself on his ilu, following her, letting out some cheer every time they jumped up the water.

Tawn smiled at the oldest Sully boy. She tugged her ilu to the right and stopped at her usual fishing ground right outside the reef.

"Now, don't tell anyone about this spot," Tawn said, disconnecting her tsaheylu and diving into the water.

She waited for Neteyam to get off his ilu and motioned him to follow her when he did. She swam towards the school of fish and looked back at Neteyam, making sure he was right behind her.

She watched Neteyam grin at the abundance of fish as he excitedly swam towards her. She nodded her head towards the fish, urging him to take the first hunt.

Neteyam was more than happy to oblige. He swam closer and lifted his spear, he closed one of his eyes to set the target better, and when he put his eye upon one, he slowly, as not to send ripples to alert the fish, followed his prey and shoot.

The spear struck its way towards the gills, emitting blood from the wound. The school of fish dispersed, startled by the ripple of the spear. Tawn grinned at Neteyam and signed a 'nice shot' towards the boy. Neteyam, still not used to sign language, cocked his head to the side. He looked confused at what she said but didn't get to think about it since he got his catch of the day.
