Buck sighed when he walked up the stairs in a fresh grey t-shirt and blue jeans, he stopped at the top of the stairs when seeing a Sunday dinner all layed out, with Hen, Chimney, Bobby, and Eddie all sitting down.
"Come and sit down, Buck." Bobby said, motioing to the seat beside him, what was also beside Eddie, so he sat down. They all tucked in, while Buck waited until last, before helping himself, them all tucking in.
"Hey. . . Cap?" Buck spoke up, after a thought occured, Bobby looked up, "Nevermind."
"Come on Kid, I can pratically hear your mind." Bobby said, while Buck only sighed when suddenly the door opened from down stairs then Athena walked in, Buck smiled at her.
"Am I late?" Athena asked, while Bobby smiled at her and kissed her cheek, allowing her to sit down beside him, opposite Buck.
"You were saying, Buck?" Bobby asked.
"Uhm, it doesn't matter." Buck mumbled, before carrying on eating in silence. Buck's phone suddenly blared, causing them all to look at him.
"Sorry." Buck mumbled, when grabbing his phone out of his pocket he stood up and pulled it upto his ear, walking away to the lounge to sit down while answering the phone.
"Hey?" Buck questioned into the phone.
"Evan, where are you?" Buck flinched at the tone in his Dad's voice.
"Sorry Dad, I uhm. Just got off of a call." Buck mumbled, "Sorry. . . phone. . . breaking. . . up."
Buck then hung up, smiling to himself before putting his phone in his pocket, and walking back over, sitting down.
"Everything okay?" Eddie asked, nudging Buck.
"Yep." Buck said, while they all was nearly done, then they all pitched in to help clean up, Buck finding a perfect chance when seeing Athena talking with Hen.
He walked over, and looked at Athena.
"Uhm, hey Athena?" Buck mumbled.
"What's wrong, Buck?" Athena asked, while Hen glanced to the both of them.
"Is it okay if I talk to you? In private?" Buck asked, looking at Hen who then walked away.
"Follow me." Athena said, walking down the stairs with Buck following, them both sitting down on the firetruck bumper, "What's up, Kid?"
"Uhm, I don't exactly know how to say this. . ." Buck trailled of, thinking, "A few years ago, my Sister, Maddie. She left with her boyfriend, Doug and I haven't heard from her since."
"How old?" Athena asked.
"I was 9, she was 18. She's been gone for 17 years." Buck answered, "I just. . . I miss her. And, today is her birthday and the annerversary of her leaving. Her leaving me."
Buck's voice broke slightly as he spoke, so Athena put a hand on his shoulder, while his eyes tears up when he continues, little did they know that there were 4 firefighters watching them.
"I hate this feeling. . . I don't know if she's alive, dead or worse. She hasn't contacted me in fucking 17 years." Buck suddenly said, sniffling, "And, I wanted to ask if you could. . . search for her. I know it's alot to ask, but-but--"
"It is not alot, I'll send it through, I won't stop looking." Athena said, while Buck nodded, before Athena stood up, "Come here."
Buck also looked up, and stood up, when Athena pulled him in for a hug and this time, he hugged back.
"Thank you." Buck mumbled into her shoulder, hugging her back.
"It's no problem at all, Kid." Athena said softly, before pulling away when Buck did, he looked at him, "If you need anything, anything at all, just give me a shout. Here."
Athena reached into her pocket and pulled out a card, handing it to Buck showing a number.
"Just call me." Athena said softly, before walking away and out of the firehouse. Buck put the card into his pocket and made his way to his locker for his stuff, not even saying goodbye, he just left and got into his car, his mind on Maddie.
If she was. . . he couldn't live with himself knowing he never looked for her.
