Lane honked the van's horn and slammed on the brakes as she approached the warehouse, followed by Roxy.

Frantically rolling down the window, she bellowed out:

"Open the door!"

A member leaning on the fence who had been dozing off was jerked awake and scrambled to the keypad. She hastily entered the code in and the gate slid open.

"What happened!?" The member asked as they drove in, noting the bullet holes in the sides of the cars.

"We got ambushed!" Roxy cried out in dramatic fashion as she stepped out of the truck, "We got attacked!"

"By who?"

"A random group that was waiting inside, they shot at us. Roxy and I were lucky to make it out ali-"

"Oh man, I have to get to Meiser!" Roxy cried out, rushing past the two to get inside.

Lane paced behind her, mentally cursing to herself as Roxy spoke.

She's gonna make this too obvious!

As soon as they were out of earshot, barely entering the building, Lane whispered into her ear.

"Not so much drama, maybe?"

"Ooh, sorry," She mumbled back, "You know Tam doesn't really pay a whole lot of attention."

"Yeah well, Tam wasn't the only person there. There were about three other people around the area."

"I'm nervous!"

Lane looked back through the tinted doors, seeing that the other members were inspecting the cars.

They pushed past other members inside the warehouse, ignoring their questions and remarks as they made their way to Reese's office.

Getting to the outside, Lane pressed the button and the door slid open.

Reese had been resting his head on his fist, and was staring at a computer screen. On his desk beside him was a cup of water and many papers with messily written notes.

"What's the matter?" He asked, his face flush with concern.

Before Roxy could start talking, Lane cut her off.

"We were attacked when we went to the bank-ambushed. Everyone but Roxy and I were killed," Lane said with a somber-looking face as she took in Reese's confused expression.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect them."

"Did you see who did it?" He asked in a low voice.

She shook her head. "They all fired from a distance as we were carrying some of the crates in. They must've seen us driving up. By the time we could start firing back, they had started hiding behind cars, and they were wearing a lot of clothing. Roxy and I barely escaped, but I'm sure by now that group is gone."

"Do you think they were part of Delta?"

"I didn't see any patches. Delta's barely even a thing anymore, Reese..."

Reese tapped his fingers against the desk harsh and rapidly. His breathing became heavier as his eyes darted around the room.

"Do you think i-it could have been those kids from yesterday? They knew about the bank trip, correct? From my speech? Maybe...maybe they..."

"What?" Lane scoffed, "That's ridiculous! Those kids wouldn't attack us. If anything, they're probably home or at the college."

"I suppose that is right. I suppose it could be Delta or some random scavengers..."
