Juliet had a big smile on her face, putting her phone away.

“Who was that?” Merin asked.

“My sister! She’s here. Raphael’s with her.”

“Oh! That’s cool!” He smiled.

“Yeah,” She wiped her eyes, “I was so worried that she might’ve been dead. She's safe!”

Finn and Russell made their way through the quiet building, opening doors and inspecting the rooms they came across. Most of the rooms appeared to simply be offices, all still neatly organized. Had the lights all been properly lit, the place would appear as normal. The inside of the building was relatively untouched, not covered in blood and corpses and bullet casings like many of the other parts they were at earlier.

“Is this really the medical building?” Russell asked.

“Uhh, I think so. I think it’s split up. This building is for all the students and stuff, the other stuff is in some building close by. I think.”

Russell nodded at that, peering at some of the supplies laying around.

“There’s a lot of nice pens around here. My mom and dad loved collecting them…” He said somberly.

“Yeah…” Finn’s phone buzzed and he checked it. “Oh shit, Raph found Julie’s sister. You remember Sierra?”

“Oh really? That’s great!”

“Yeah, Julie just told me. I can’t believe it!”

“Wonder if she still likes those peanut butter crunch chips,” Russell went to check his duffel bag, but forgot he no longer had it. “I think we had a bag with us.”

“Yeah, poor girl’s probably starving.”

Finn shook his head, and his breath hitched. He heard the faint sound of footsteps, which suddenly turned into a full fledged sprint.

“You motherfuckers!” A male voice shouted.

Finn turned around and saw a man with a slingshot running at them. He flung what appeared to be a small metallic sphere from it, which flew past Finn’s face and hit Russell.

His body jittered as a severe electrical shock was transmitted from the sphere, which had stuck itself on his chest.

“Russ!” Finn shouted, and the man’s elbow connected with his chin.

The man jumped up and delivered a roundhouse kick to the side of Russell’s face, sending him through an office window.

He slapped Finn’s gun out of his hand and blocked a chop from him, headbutting Finn and slamming his face against another window.

He grabbed Finn from behind and wrapped his arms around his neck, putting an immense amount of pressure on him.

Finn tried to elbow at his aggressor, but it felt as if he was hitting a brick wall. He pushed back against the man, making the two walk backwards until they passed through the shattered window from Russell.

The man grunted as his back met with the corner of a desk, and Finn bit down hard on the man’s forearm. He yelled in agony, and eventually released his arm, with a nasty red mark left behind.

The man then dug his fingers into Finn’s eye socket, making him scream out. He stomped on the man’s foot with as much force as he could muster, and the man threw him over the desk, knocking over everything on top.

As Finn fell to the ground the wind was knocked out of him. He tried to reach for his knife, but a foot was stomped down on his side before he could.

He managed to roll away, and as he rose to his feet, managed to grab a pen that had fallen. He clicked the pen and as the man charged at him again, his mouth open, Finn jutted the tip into the man’s gums.
