Running up the stair cases to the master bedroom his heart sank at the sight of his wife standing in a pool of blood.

Instinctively he ran over to her and carried her bridal style.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Spencer. I wasn't gonna go through with it I promise I'm so sorry". She cried in his arms. Confused as to how her own body could do this to her, betray her like this. Not understanding why things were happening the way they were.

Spencer was completely unresponsive. All he had in mind was to get his wife to the hospital. Not fully digesting the situation in hand about the baby, that was the last thing he could worry about. Right now his wife's health was of paramount importance. Rushing through the house to the car, he quickly opened the door with Jordan next to him panicking.

"Yo! What's going on spence?"

"listen i need you to stay here with Matthew I'll update you with Olivia" he said running to the other side of the car and climbing in the car. He didn't even wait for Jordan's response.

On the way to the hospital Spencer wasn't driving he was FLYING!!. Olivia next to him kept going in and out of consciousness.

"Hey...hey...hey Liv open your eyes, keep your eyes open baby we're almost there okay"

The only thing Liv kept saying on the was was how sorry she was. Which broke Spencer's heart but he couldn't dwell into it, he had to be at the hospital ASAP.

Normally this drive takes about 15 min on this day they were at the hospital in 8 minutes. Without wasting time he carried her out the car and straight to the ER.

"Help!! My wife's bleeding I need your help please"

Immediately nurses came with a stretcher and Olivia was taken into some private room. They needed her there alone.

While waiting in the Reception. Spencer sat down and only then was he able to process everything that just happened. He tried to convince himself that there was a chance for their baby to live but subconsciously he knew there was no way. He then thought about the amount of stress he caused Olivia by not complying with her request to terminate the baby. He convinced himself he was the reason she miscarried. And for that he hated himself.

Liv's reasons for not wanting a child at that time were relevant. He knew that, he knew they wouldn't cope with a 4th baby but he still fought with her. Was he a good husband?? Selfish maybe??. Although Liv didn't want this baby a miscarriage shouldn't have been the way she lost it. He's heart ached at the thought of the trauma she was going through.

"Olivia Baker James?" A doctor called out.

"I'm her husband, Spencer James" he said firmly as he walked to the doctor.

"This way sir". And they walked to the direction of Liv's room.

As soon as that door opened he ran over to her side. Giving her a warm hug. "I'm so sorry Spence" she cried in his arms. "Its not your fault Liv It's okay baby I'm here". That hug alone told him everything he needed to know. The way she gripped on his body was an indication of the mental state she was in.

"Well Mr and Mrs James there's good news and bad news. The bad news is unfortunately you lost a baby.

Olivia winced at the doctors words, burying her head further into her husband body. Spencer's hold tightened.

" and the good news is we managed to stop the bleeding and we were able to save the other twin"

"What!" Spencer asked, loosening his grip on her looking for a reaction.

She cried, she cried hysterically. And he could tell that she was relieved. As much as its sad that they lost one child at least it wasn't both of them. And that meant so much.

"Yea, Mrs James experienced something we call VTS. In most cases it happens at an earlier stage of the pregnancy. Its very rare for it to happen at 6 weeks so we are concerned about that however she's fine for now. We're just going to give her estrogen supplements because we're worried her endometrium wall is not strong enough. Lastly we'd like to keep her here for the night just to make sure she's good"

In shock they both nodded simultaneously.

"Alright, let me leave you I'll be back for my 11pm check up hour" and she walked out the room.

Spencer and Olivia both bawled in each other's arms. Not believing what Just happened.

"I'm sorry babe, I shouldn't have put that much stress on you. I know there's nothing I can say that'll bring our baby back or that'll make the loss feel any better. I was selfish and I take full accountability for my actions. I promise I'm never gonna do anything like that again, It was very childish of me. More especially because you gave me reasons as to why you felt like that was the right choice. I'm really sorry".

Liv didn't respond. Instead she just continued crying. Taking this opportunity to vent Spencer went on.

"I'm happy that in the end you wanted to keep it, well them now knowing that they were two. Our baby that survived is truly a special Gift from God, he/she is definitely gonna make us stronger. And im gonna live the rest of my life making up for the loss of our baby. I love you Olivia. I love you so much it hurts seeing you like this. There's nothing I wouldn't do to take away your trauma. I know how you can get babe I know you're capable of putting yourself in such a dark headspace. This is not the time for that Liv imma need you to be vocal baby. That's the only way we can work through this."

Listening to her husband pour his heart out to her meant everything. He knew her so well he just kept saying the right things. Happy that she still gets a chance to be a new parent alongside her favourite person in the world she just couldn't imagine what life would be like for this baby being raised alone all because her body couldn't handle it. She blamed herself for even stressing about this because at the end of the day she knew she wouldn't have went through with abortion. Meaning if she just accepted reality then she wouldn't have been stressed. Both her babies would still be here.

Her head was already going in very dark places. But she couldn't let it consume her. Or at least she tried. She felt like a part of her died with her little one but she'd never let her husband know because that would break him.

"I love you too Spencer, so much..." she said in a very low tone.

Spencer also slowly drifting to a dark head space. He couldn't bring himself to telling his wife. Seeing her like that already broke him. If she knew the stuff going on in his head she'd never recover from this. And plus he needed to be there for her more than himself.

Spencer finally let go if Liv and both of them avoided eye contact because they knew they could read each other. Spencer watched as Olivia dozed off. He then fell asleep on the chair.

After sometime Spencer was woken up by sniffles, his wife with a pillow covering her face trying to mask her cries. He watched her with his own tears running down his face trying to cry as silently as possible.
