A year passes, Syra has acclimated to our life by now. My husband was the one making sure our cat and the ither two were being fed and the liter was scooped without any of the gratitude.

We drove down to SouthEast 14th street of Des Moines, Iowa where my mother in-law was living. We went to have a brief visit as to make sure she was doing okay.

Upon arrival, it was a small mobile home neighborhood that was compacted next to a strip mall. It was a narrow drive but managed to find a parking spot that easily granted me a safe exit when it was time for us to leave.

We got to spend a good time with his mother. She too had kittens running around the area. One of then sat arop ome of the hutches, staring down at us from above. She was poofy and her eyes were menacing.

When it came to leaving, I encouraged my husband to take a kitten of his choosing as he was alresdy been the caretaker of the animals back at the apartment. It took some encouragement and pushing from my end and he did yeild; ending up taking this poofy long haired, tortoiseshell kitten where she would meet her new brother.

It was my husband that gave her the name Gracie whereas I gave her the middle name June. It was a way for us to remember when her birthday was. Even though we wouldn't exactly know what the day was, the month was what mattered.

Growing together, Syra and Gracie were best buds. He would protect her, play with her, and clean her. He had beckme the ultimate brother for Gracie. She found places to sleep that we would never think she could fit or even find. We found her sleeping in my husband's mega mans blaster one day.

As Gracie grew, she had latched herself to my husband. Loving him andbhe doting over her. The best way I can deacribe it is she was a jealous ex girlfriend from a past life. Bevause even though i showedbher the same affection, she would treat me like a bitch.

The only tine she would let me pet her was whenever she went into heat but once we got her fixed, she tolerates me now but her affection to my husband was never waivered.
She is still very much a beautiful cat and I do love her and the weird relationship I share with her and the one she has with my husband. She was never a fan of other cats and loved her privacy. A solitude kind of cat unless it was my husband who wanted nothing but his love and attention. But no doubt, a beautiful addition to our family.
