He wins in Spa

"For the first time ever Charles Leclerc wins a Formula 1 Grand Prix"

These were words which Charles had dreamed about his whole life but today didn't feel like a victory, today felt like nothing.

He had only slept for 2 hours the whole night before because of what had happened to Antoine. All he wanted to do was to find Pierre and go home.

Max had been out on the first lap after contact with Kimi left him with broken suspension and he watched on proudly as Charles dominated the race, even during the final lap it never looked like Lewis would catch him.

*2 hours later*

The race was long finished and so were the team debriefs. Max had sent Charles a text asking him how he was and the only response he got was asking Max to come to Charles's motorhome.

"Hey Max I um uh sort of have something to tell you" said Charles. Max was listening and just nodded his head curiously . "Well I-i um sort of I don't know how to say it but uh"
"Charles are you ok? " said Max
"I'm gay Max" Those 3 small words sent Charles head spinning, he couldn't believe what he had just done, what if Max hated him now and wouldn't talk to him anymore what if Max told everyone. In all honesty Charles didn't know why he decided to tell Max there and then but as he stood there he was fully expecting a punch to come flying at him or a torrent of shouting but suddenly he was engulfed in a hug by Max "I'm so so proud of Charles, Thank you so much for trusting me enough " said Max. Charles couldn't quite believe it, The Dutchman who had been raised to kill all competition was standing there hugging him and telling him it was ok and how proud of him he was "just don't uh tell anyone ok" Charles just about managed to say.  "Of course not Charles you can trust me I promise, does anyone else know?"
"Only Arthur ". "I'm scared Max, I'm so scared to tell my family what if they hate me what if they tell everyone " Charles was crying now tears flowing down his face.

Max didn't know what to say. He wanted to tell Charles that he was also gay but he just couldn't get the words out. He wanted to tell him everything would be ok but he couldn't believe that with himself let alone someone else so he just mumbled "Don't worry Charles I'll be there for you "

Max had stayed with Charles for about 10 minutes before leaving because he had agreed to meet his mom and sister. "Sorry Charles I have to go to meet some people ok " said Max. Charles was a little bit sad but just told Max it was ok "that's ok and thank you for being so supportive, you have no idea how much it means "
If only he knew thought Max, if only he knew.
