I woke up to the shaking and rattling sound of all the bags. I could practically feel the plane shifting back here, and with every subtle movement the plane made the bags would shake just a little bit. My hair was a mess after the nap, (I used my backpack as a pillow) my stomach was queasy, and I felt extremely nauseous. It reminded me of when Me, Mama, Artemis, and Apollo went on a camping trip to a lake nearby. We had two tents, one for my Mama and Auntie Temis and one for Me and Apollo. But Apollo didn't want to sleep in the tent, and after a lot of whining on his end and disappointed head shakes from the girls- oh, and some stifled laughs on my end- Apollo finally got what he wanted and he was able to sleep outside on the hammock we hung up earlier that day. While I didn't personally wake up early enough to see it happen from my own eyes, Artemis caught it on camera. The film started with her unzipping the tent muttering about having to use the bathroom and deciding to bring the camera with her to film the stars and the animals in the woods, she made her trip to the bathroom- leaving the camera outside while she was in the outhouse and picking it back up talking about the random stuff she saw. When she reached the campsite she saw Apollo, actually glowing in the dark while throwing up next to a tree, we didn't see much after that because she dropped the camera to the floor and started laughing at Apollo, while he- in between throwing up all his dinner and his smores from last night- started yelling at her. But there was always something oddly false about all their arguments. It was just their dynamic, it was the way they talked, the way they joked, and the way they showed that they loved each other while bullying each other at the same time. It always sort of confused me, but I never questioned it. The film rolled on for another few minutes of them arguing before Mama unzipped her tent and started firmly talking about how they had to be quiet and how she was so sick of them she might literally throw them in a pit one day until they fight each other to the death. While Mama is kind and patient, she had been putting up with the twins for so long I personally would have murdered them and then myself just to end my eternal suffering. After quite the earful from my mom, she and Artemis started on breakfast while Apollo was still throwing up. It made me giggle just thinking about it, though now that I think about it and know that their gods it does sort of confuse me how they had mortal metabolisms and body's whilst they were with me and mama. I supposed it was so that I would never find out that they were actually gods, but even their mortal forms still had pieces of their godly selves within them. Like how Apollo glows even in mortal form at night- and even sometimes in the day, despite every other aspect of that form being completely human. Or like how Artemis' eyes have that glow that no other mortal has, like the moon is constantly shining on them even in broad daylight. Or like how Hestia has that warm glow in her eyes like the embers in a hearth and skin that is a little too perfectly toned, like it's not actually real skin. It almost made me feel imperfect growing up, but then again it's hard to compete with gods and goddesses. I always felt like my skin was a little too pale, or my cheeks were a little too rosy, or my hair a little too messy. I tried not to dwell on it much. A smile emblazoned on my face from re-living the story. I was wide awake now, so I got my phone out to play some music in the room, in which the only sound that emitted from it was the rattling of the suitcases and the stuff in them. I quickly realized there was no cellular data up there so I instead played the dino game while I waited. I didn't know when the plane was landing- in fact, I didn't even have the slightest clue when it was landing and there were obviously no windows in this bit of the plane, not that I knew what California looked like anyways, so they actually would've just been plain useless. I grabbed my phone and looked at the time. I haven't slept for long, just a couple of hours. I set it back in its original position between my legs and looked around. I didn't know what I was expecting to find, maybe a magical fairy that would give me something to do. I didn't want to use my phone for anything but music because the battery could die and I didn't know when I could charge it. I sighed, bored out of my mind, I checked my phone three more times in the next minute, hoping that the time would just magically change. It didn't. I laid my head on the wall and hit my knees with my hands to pass the time. I sighed and checked the time once more. Nothing changed. All too suddenly, I felt the plane jerk forwards. I sat up straight, looking around frantically, It jerked again, and suddenly all the bags (along with me) flew towards the front of the plane. I hit the wall with a thump. Inside the main room I could hear the flight attendants frantically calling out what to do and the passengers freaking out. A plane crash. The plane was crashing. I sighed dramatically. Again? I thought, frankly more exasperated than scared. Does Zeus hate me or am I just the most unlucky person in the whole dang world. I snatched up my bag and grabbed onto the pipes rattling on the walls. I could hear the intercom come on and talk about some stupid thing while the passengers' horrified remarks were muffled out by the wall. I braced myself for impact, It came. I felt much better than I did last time, probably because this was the back of the plane. I flinched in pain as I moved one of my arms. It broke. I noticed as I saw the blood and bone sticking out of the flesh. How I didn't notice immediately I didn't know, but I just tried to ignore the pain as I pried myself off the ground and started climbing up to the exit. I broke off the handle of somebody's suitcase and used my one arm to try to pull open the door, after a few minutes of trying the door unlatched and I pulled it up easily. I breathed the ashy, burning smell in the air, but just as I was about to jump out of the wreckage, The explosion did it for me. I flew from the plane as I felt the heat burn off my skin and blast me up into the sky. My vision went black before I could comprehend what just happened and I passed out while I fell to the ground.
