Skylars POV:

I'm in his arms. I hate to admit how great it feels to be in his arms.

I cup his sleep filled face into my hands running my thumbs over his eyelids and lips.

I kiss his forehead, then his nose, then the corner of his lips.

He finally flutters his eyes open making direct eye contact with me, "morning."

I softly smile.

He smiles back.

I feel tears slowly run down my face, my thumb runs over his lips and I kiss him softly.

He looks at me with a soft sparkle in his eye then kisses me again. Once we break the kiss, I put my four-head against his.

"Promise me, something?" I whisper against his lips.

"Anything"

I back up staring into his eyes; I wrap my arms around him tightly, not wanting to let go.

"Please......"

"Please be real"

He smiles. This time, it's not one of those soft small ones.

A vicious smirk plants itself on his once dazzling lips.

Sadly this smiles more real then the first.

His eyes grow into their dark abyss. All light I saw previously saw, gone, as if it never had been there.

In an instant his hands are placed around my neck, not to caress, or hold, or kiss but to kill, break, and destruct.

I hold his hands, trying to look into his soulless eyes as he tries to destroy the existence of mine.

My eyes are filled with everything but fear. Instead, I feel sad, hurt, betrayed, and grief.

I feel pity. For him and me.

That we were born to kill each other.

That we can't share sweet kisses and hold each other.

That we were born as werewolves.

That we were mates. Soulmates.

The more I look into the dark abyss, the more at home I feel.

My vision going black as I realize my mate was crying.

My mate was crying.

My mate was crying.

This isn't real.

I wake up.

I gasp as I open my eyes. My body feels hot, but it's not unbearable.

I look around and feeling his gaze on me.

I find it.

He wasn't exactly looking at me; he was glaring at the space next to where my body laid.

He looked so....dissociated.

He had blood running down his tight fisted hands. The blood hits the expensive carpet, staining its innocent beauty.

The door was broken into pieces, and in its place, there was a jail like door locked in place.

A gate. A cage. We're locked in here.

There's an alarm rapidly going off. It must be a security system of some sort.

Why did it go off?

I look at my mate in confusion. He was muttering something.
