Prerna's POV
After I came back from school, I told ma everything as I want my ma to be my friend because I don't have my age friends so why not my mother?
You know sometimes mom gives lectures but that is also for my welfare so I never thought it was wrong but due to the generation gap sometimes her lectures seem useless.
"Mom, I am really tired. Can I have some juice?" I asked my mother.
"Yeah sure. I will just bring it." Ma said
"Oh yeah Prerna today Jatin's friend Sonu is coming for dinner with his wife and his son and daughter." My mom told me while handing me the juice.
"Who is Sonu? Do I know him?"
"No. He is your father's childhood bestfriend. He got settled in New York and married there. Now he's back in India."
"Oh so they plan to live here now?"
"I don't know Prerna. I only met him twice. So be nice to them and wear good clothes."
"Okay I will be nice to them but can't I just wear a night suit? Why do I have to wear good clothes?"
"No, they have a son of your age and a daughter who is of Rakshit's age and it doesn't look good."
"Okay" I said to her pouting.
"Well mom I am going to sleep. Don't wake me up anytime soon. Good night."
"What! You have to go to your coaching classes from today on. Did you forget?"
"Arey, mom. I will go from tomorrow. Please let me sleep today I am really very tired."
"But.."
"Pleaseeeeeee mom. And please shut the door on your way out."
"Fine" my mom sighed accepting her defeat.
I have two tuitions that are of math and accounts which I will be attending from tomorrow.
"Prernaaaaaaa wake up. Its already 8. When will you get ready? Are you deaf? How can you sleep so much? Don't you have insomnia?" My mom shouted at me and switched off the fan to wake me up.
" Yaar mom I don't want to meet them just tell them she's not at home I just want to sleep. And yeah I am recovering from insomnia." I told her.
"Not at all. Now get up fast. They will be here by 8:30."
I had to get up because I can't disobey the supreme court's orders.
I walked to the bathroom to freshen up.
Then I went to my wardrobe. After searching for 10 mins I finally chose a black and peach net frock and wore it. I decided to wear my natural look as I don't want to do even light makeup now as I am not a fan of makeup.
I quickly went down when I heard the doorbell and mom and papa greeted the guests.
I went near them and greeted them.
"Hello uncle and aunty. I am Prerna"
"Hi beta I am Sonu your father's childhood bestfriend and this is my wife Neela."
I smiled at them.
"Hey Prerna. I am Mannat. Their daughter." She said pointing at her parents.
"Hello" I said hugging her.
Then a person came and I was like fuck!
"You?" I said.
"You!" Naksh repeated.
"You guys know each other?" Papa asked me.
"Umm yeah. We are in the same class at school." He told him looking at me and I was just looking down.
