(Katya POV)
“This is it,” I will finally get even with those bastards for all the pain they caused Logan. “That cloaked bastard is going down,” I thought to myself as I gripped my weapon tighter.
“So finally the famous Quinn, is joining the party? What do we owe the pleasure of your presents?” I said sarcastically.
Quinn kept walking until he was at Steven side, and rested his large hand upon Steven’s trembling shoulder. “Well, Princess I came here for you,” he said. I knew that voice I had heard it before, and I was trying to figure it out but was distracted by Drake’s strange mumbling.
“Do you honestly think I will go anywhere with you? I guess stupidity runs in the family.” I taunted.
Quinn was laughing hard, as he struggled to respond. “If you’re speaking of Xander he is an idiot, I have been drugging him for years and making him do my dirty work. All this time everyone thought the Rogues where behind things, but in fact it was me. If it wasn’t for him and his stupid bitch, this would have ended a long time ago.” He slipped his large hand inside his cloak and pulled out a black leather whip. The whip rested in his hand as the long lashes uncoiled to the floor and the morning sunlight glinted against its embedded silver thorns. “This is one fight you won’t win Princess,” he said as cracked the whip in my direction.
Drake started to move forward, but I held him back with my free arm. “Kyle is that you?” Drake asked.
Another bought of laughter came from Quinn. “You were always a little slow…Huh …Drake.” He pulled back his hood as his chiseled face came into view and his piercing brown eyes burned with hate.
“This isn’t possible, you are my Beta. You pledged yourself to me and the pack. That is a blood bond pledge, to go against it means death.” Drake said.
Kyle smirked at us as he spoke, “Dear friend do you think my brother was the only one I drugged. You see that hot little bitch Amber did anything I wanted. Yea she was my brother’s mate, but all she wanted was power, sex and money. Do you remember when we were younger; I was the only one who couldn’t hear the pack. You thought it was because I was an orphan and needed to be pledge into the pack. So Steven walked us through the process, but what you failed to notice that day, is that you missed an important step.” Kyle opened his cloak and lifted end of his shirt revealing right hip. “See anything missing?”
I heard a sharp intake of breath, “ Son of bitch” Drake said under his breath. It took me a second to understand what I was seeing, but then it came to me. Kyle was missing his pack mark, it was the final step taken in a pack bonding. It was a mark given to every wolf by their Alpha, and all marks where different for each pack. There is only two ways to get rid of a mark. One was to go rogue, which meant you breaking all ties and sever you connection with pack. The other was to pledge into another pack, and baring their mark. By pledging to another pack the new mark would allowed the first mark to heal. To have an unfinished pack bonding was dangerous; it made them apart of the pack without being the completely connected to the Alpha. Which that meant the Alpha wouldn’t be able to sense that person’s betrayal, and they could go against pack law.
