ALTHEA LYNCH HAD ONLY ONE REGRET WITHIN HER— she should have agreed with her father escorting her to Diagon Alley instead of Professor Dumbledore. This would refill her the time she lost with this horrendous boy, Tom Riddle, but also spare her from this tragedy that was unfolding before her.

They told her that Diagon Alley was the safest place among all the other wizardry areas in London. Foolish to believe any of it.

The men who attacked the store across the street wore black clothes and hoods with their edges raised high, standing up. A horrific sight for anyone in the vicinity, but also unusual for Diagon Alley.

Althea stayed bonelessly looking to their side, momentarily forgetting the confrontation she had with Tom.

"I suggest we should run," Tom told her, and she just kept looking at them.

Was it the Alliance that once again wanted to impose themselves on the civilian population? Was this how the attack on the Ministry of Magic had started when they murdered her mother?

She looked around and sorted a woman running, trying to escape their deadly gaze. Some students were also running in the direction of the train to save themselves. All of them, along with her and Tom, had families somewhere who did not know that one of their members was in danger.
