Ian was standing on top of hotel and looked at the open door. He saw her slowly waking up and just went around to see if there are any zombies that could attack them.
To his luck they went to top floor that had own safety doors and went up to check the top.
Few zombies were already dead here and as it seems someone escaped already with helicopters before, but when Sarah came out, she thought he went up clear the path as he was near one and smiled.
Her heart calmed down as she saw him calmly walking towards her.
"I thought you left without me."
Ian shook his head and looked at her. If his girlfriend is dead, he might as well keep this woman close.
She is at least healthy and might produce offspring. Unfortunately, he knew that Gina couldn't have children and planned having few on side just in case.
He actually loved her. But he loved himself more.
He wanted children. Why he wanted children is not that he liked children then just wanted his own.
It was natural feeling but he never admitted it to Gina.
So he wanted to make few women pregnant while he married Gina and brought children for her to adopt them knowing her wish to have her own, even if they are adopted.
He knew she wanted anxiously children and always calmed her down that he never cared. But it was a big, fat lie.
He will keep Sarah close to have her as birthing woman, but Gina would be the one to rise kids.
He just has to find way to ask her in forgiveness. Maybe say it's as all fake?
But considering her affinity to AI, she will know truth as AI will tell her if the pictures were real or faked.
How annoying.
He looked at Sarah and thought if Gina really died because those creatures, he still wants to keep her. One of reasons was that this woman was completely devoted to him.
The devoted Sarah currently was glancing at sky in hope to see any signs of helicopters to save them while she listened echo of growls.
Ian looked at still open door and his lips twitched. This damnable woman didn't think of their safety.
So he was about to go and close gate when he saw few people coming as well and looking at them in wonder.
"You are alive as well. Good you didn't close gate as there are three more arriving. Let's hope that more survivors will be saved." A man in police unform looked down the staircase and smiled as he saw more people coming up.
Ian glanced at nearby buildings and saw more people appearing on top of them and knew that some humans really survived.
But there was a big problem.
He didn't see any children alive.
His eyes became even deeper as he knew in case of apocalypse procreation was more important and kept Sarah close to him. "Stay closer. Don't get in danger."
Sarah felt warm in her heart and almost clapped her hands thinking that he finally cared for her enough to give up on that woman, forgetting that she was once her best friend...
