AI had no feelings, but he saw interaction between these two and warned him on time so he locked himself up in nearby office. The door was made out of metal and their human hands couldn't get trough.
His scent slowly dissapeard so when zombies rushed inside, they just smelled human, but had no idea where it was.
They rushed trough empty rooms and left right after, looking trough each open door for humans.
Luckily only hundred or so zombies separated from the big horde and rushed down the street.
The man smiled as he sat in the office and shrruged as he saw on screen helicopters arriving on top of buildings and leaving without him.
*You intentionally didn't go.*
The screen appeared in front of his eyes and he saw a young woman pointing down but the other two grabbed her and dragged inside the helicopter and they left even if she struggled
"She should be a good person. Like my mom, right?" He met in his life many good people, but only she had those warm eyes. Yes, some people are good, but this woman was from inside warm.
*Good? Humans all have multiple emotions. Good or bad is not my problem as long they don't destroy completely humanity.*
AI even gave chance to a man that became dictator. So he didn't really care.
"You said I'm secondary character. Tell me about it." With tired smile the man opened his stash of pain drugs and drank one. He still had work to do.
*I guess no one ever opened my screens as much as that girl. Even she didn't read it all. You know reality has two sides. Like two side of mirror. The other reality never had industrialization even if it's same timeline. Unfortunately there I don't exist but I can connect to that world.*
The man stilled. Parallel universe?
But then his lips twitched as his eyes fell onto his brown skin. "In that other place, are my people still free?"
*Free? Oh, you mean slavery? Well, in that world Inkas took over both continents and never let Europeans enter freely. Slavery still exists on your continent as it always did. So, some of your people are free some... Not. Humans thing. I don't touch your ways and traditions and I don't care.*
"Oh..." But suddenly he realized what that thing just said. "Wait... You still didn't explain the secondary character thing."
*I will give you chance to send your soul to the other reality. To a random boy body. He is a servant in one rich man house. Not slave if you ask that.*
Being servant or slave are two different stories.
"But?" There must be something this thing didn't tell him about.
*But? What do you mean?*
"That's it?" He almost started laughing in wonder.
*Yes. As you are servant, you are supporting character. Like worker in company. Of course, with supplies in your storage, that other character can go back to the village and become richest man. Or you can chose to travel the world. As I said, you are not slave. Not in this world and not in that world.*
Thinking about having second chance, the man happily smiled and pressed screen looking at outside condition.
He still wants to gather more things from stores. After all, he is getting a second chance...
