14. Making up

Nanon entered the room and everyone looked at him. His eyes filled with tears as he saw their faces.

Nanon: I...I am sorry...

Everyone turned their heads away from him. Nanon knew they wouldn't forgive him easily but first he needs to apologize to Ohm.

Nanon: Ohm...I am ...sorry...plz...plz forgive me...I know what I did...is unforgivable...but plz...I...am sorry...

Ohm didn't say anything and turned his head away. Nanon felt a pang in his heart. He couldn't take it. He couldn't take Ohm ignoring him like that. He wanted Ohm to shout at him, to hit him! He was ok with any of that but he couldn't handle Ohm ignoring him.

He went towards Ohm and fell on his knees in front of him and started apologizing over and over. It was to the point that he started shaking. Ohm wasn't going to forgive him this easily but he couldn't see Nanon like that. He had never seen him so weak...so desperate.

Ohm sat on his knees and hugged Nanon. Nanon grabbed him by the waist and started crying uncontrollably. Ohm patted the back of his head gently.

Everyone else realized that Nanon has realized his mistakes. They went to him and hugged him too. Earth pulled away first.

Earth: Ai Non! Enough with the crying! What are you, a baby?! Even Phukao never cried this much! Get up now, you are ruining Ohm's T-shirt!

Everyone got up one after another smiling a little. Nanon slowly let go of Ohm and wiped his tears and both of them got up.

Ohm: I still haven't forgiven you, Nanon.

Nanon looked at Ohm sadly. Ohm sighed.

Ohm: But I might forgive you if you tell me why your hatred is soo deep that it made you lose all senses...

Nanon nodded. He knew he had to tell Ohm about it...
The others went out of the room to give them space to talk to each other. They closed the door.

Nanon: Soo... I know I shouldn't have done that....and I should have controlled my emotions better...Sorry Ohm...

Ohm: You apologized already. It won't change anything now...but tell me why you did it. I should know, after all...we are friends right?

Nanon felt happy when Ohm said that. He was glad that Ohm was ready to forgive him. It was going to be hard to relive all those moments the Summetikuls made him go through but he will tell Ohm everything if that is what makes him forgive him. He didn't know why he was going to such lengths for Ohm but his heart told him to hold onto Ohm and never let him go.

Nanon took a deep breath and calmed his breathing. Ohm handed him a glass of water and he drank a bit. Then he realized that Ohm was hurt. He got the first aid box and applied ointment on the bruises that were caused by the handcuffs.
Nanon couldn't bear the thought that Ohm was hurt because of him.

Nanon: Sorry...I am soo sorry...

Ohm pulled his hand away.

Ohm: I told you to stop apologizing...and tell me the reason.

Nanon was about to say something when his phone began to ring.
He looked at Ohm and he gestured Nanon to pick up. He looked at the screen and saw that it was Bright. He picked up.

Bright: AI SATH!! HAVE YOU LOST IT?! WHERE IS OHM?! DON'T TELL ME YOU DID SOMETHING STUPID TO HIM--

Nanon: Calm down Bright! Stop shouting! As for Ohm, yes I did do something stupid, but now I have realized my mistake.

Bright: ....ohk then if you say so. Is Ohm OK??

Nanon: Ask him yourself...

Nanon put the phone on speaker and whispered to Ohm that it was Bright on the call.

Ohm: Sawatdee krub, P'Bright.

Bright: Ohm! Are you alright?! That idiot didn't do anything stupid-- oh wait he did... I mean are you alright??

Ohm: I am fine P'. Don't worry. He apologized.

Bright: Oh good then... How about you join classes after a month?? Take rest OK?

Ohm: That's not necessary P'--

Nanon: Thanks Bright! I'll hang up now.

With that he hung up.

Nanon: So...

Ohm: Go ahead.

Nanon: Well, I guess you already know that the three families that basically control the whole country are the Kirdpan, Vihokratana and Summetikul families.
The Kirdpan and Vihokratana families had very close relationship and good bonds. Our great grandparents had realized that the stuff we were doing was wrong and harmful for the people and country. They decided to step away from all the bad things they did. But the Summetikuls were greedy. Very greedy. They didn't care about people. They didn't want to stop the huge amount of incoming money coming from drug smuggling, prostitution and other things...

The Kirdpans and Vihokratanas decided to build their own companies and one joint company. Right now we have companies in many areas like IT, Textiles, electronics, oil exports and some others.

But the Summetikuls were harming the people and economy. Kirdpans and Vihokratanas were the only ones strong, influential and authoritative enough to stop them from doing such things. So we decided to keep the gang alive and right now we only work to put an end to them. Other than that we solely focus on our companies.
My dad and the Summetikul's current head, Dew's father, hated each other through and through. Because of that we always competed in all the contracts we got. They disguised themselves as government's people and do things the wrong way...

But what made me hate them wasn't this. I hated them for that, sure, but what made me hate them like I do now were those two incidents, which changed my life completely...

Ohm was taking everything in and although he knew the mafia world was messed up, it seemed that it's much more than what he has seen and gone through...He noticed that Nanon's expression turned grim when he mentioned those 2 incidents...He didn't want Nanon to hurt but he needed to know... What made him like this...

Ohm: ....And those incidents were...??
