SASUKE LOOKED AROUND THE path filled with Wisteria. Tanjiro next to him, a fox mask on his face and clothed with a cloud haori. Sasuke hadn't changed his outfit. He just made it bigger so he fits in it.

Sasuke's hair definitely got longer, but Urokodaki gave him a haircut, making it like his old one. He kept his Konoha headband around his forehead. He always would. Even if he decided to leave, Konoha was always his first home — even if it gave him bad memories. It also gave him good memories.

They arrived at the top of the stairs, seeing a bunch of participants. "Everyone. We thank you for coming here tonight. To the demon slayer corps final selection." Two girls said, wait.. 'one is a boy.' Sasuke noted.

"There are demons imprisoned here on Mt. fujikasane captured alive by the demon slayer swordsmen, and unable to leave. That is because wisteria which demons hate so much, blooms even out of season from the bottom to halfway up the mountain." They continued, Sasuke noted the thing about Wisteria being harmful to demons.

He listened as they continued to explain final selection. They sent the slayers off. Sasuke looked at Tanjiro. "We must split up. You want to prove yourself, right? I'll step in if needed." Sasuke said and Tanjiro nodded. He grunted before disappearing.

Sasuke ran through the forest, arms behind him. His senses went off and he dodged a demon jumping down at him. He swiped his blade, killing it instantly. It turned into ashes.

This continued for the rest of the night, just Sasuke killing demons. When it came to day, he went into a tree which was in the sunlight and slept, knowing no demons could kill him.

The next few days was Sasuke killing demons, finding food and sleeping. It was like a mission with multiple enemies. A scream erupted and thundering footsteps were heard. Sasuke woke up and looked down, seeing a giant demon with multiple hands.

It was chasing a demon slayer. Tanjiro appeared and fought the demon. When Tanjiro was knocked out, Sasuke jumped down and sliced any hands coming for Tanjiro. Sasuke smirked beneath his fox mask, which had a moon on the forehead. This demon couldn't even touch Tanjiro if Sasuke was here.

"Get up Tanjiro! Fight dammit!" Sasuke shouted. Tanjiro gasped awake and they jumped away. They sliced an hands coming for them. "Then again, even that pink-haired brat couldn't slice off my head." The demon said and Sasuke got flashes of Sakura going through his head.

He knew the demon wasn't talking about her. But the anger he felt in his body if Sakura died, especially to a demon. Sasuke charged at the demon, slicing any hands away. "Tanjiro! Now!" Sasuke shouted as he jumped up, avoiding any hands.

He head butted the hand going for his head and landed on the arm, slicing any hands going for him before beheading the demon.

Sasuke smirked under his mask as Tanjiro beheaded the demon. Tanjiro sent a prayer to the demon who disintegrated.
"I will leave you now, Tanjiro." Sasuke said, Tanjiro nodded. Sasuke disappeared in a flash.

Sasuke continued to slaughter demons for the rest of the night. He came across a guy with a boar head, and teamed up with him for a bit before travelling again.

He walked through the wisteria, making it back to the final selection start. He was the second one there. A girl with a blank smile, looking at a butterfly.

He closed his eyes, hands in his pockets as he waited for the others to arrive. He felt multiple people arrive but tuned them out until the two people from the a week ago started talking. "So? What am I supposed to do now?" A boy asked and Sasuke peeked an eye open, looking at him.

He had a Mohawk and a bunch of scars on his face. He looked angry. "Where's my sword?" The boy asked. "First, we shall issue you all uniforms. We will take your measurements, agree which your rank will be engraved. There are ten ranks in all.. Kinoe, Kinoto, Hinoe, Hinoto, Tsuchinoe, Tsuchinoto, Kanoe, Kanoto, Mizunoe, and Mizunoto." They listed the ranks.
