Chapter 6

SHINOBU POINTED HER SWORD at Tanjiro and Giyuu. "Now, Tomioka-san. Please move out of the way." Shinobi ordered, a false smile on her face, "I'm not.." Giyuu started.

"I'm not disliked by people."

Sasuke felt like he was struck by something as Giyuu said that. He deadpanned. "Ah, we'll I'm sorry. It seems you hadn't realised that people don't like you. I shouldn't have said anything. My apologies." Shinobu smiled.

Tanjiro screams slightly in shock as Giyuu frowned.

"Young boy!" Shinobu called out to Tanjiro. "Yes?" Tanjiro asked. "What you're protecting there is a demon. I don't want you to get hurt, so please move away." Shinobu said to Tanjiro.

"Y-you're mistaken!" Tanjiro stuttered, sitting up. "I mean, you're not mistaken, but.. she's my little sister! She's my little sister, so you see.." Tanjiro said and Sasuke deadpanned.

What sort of explanation is "She's my little sister!"?? Just tell the damn hashira that Nezuko doesn't eat humans. "Is that true? Poor soul..." Shinobu said in fake sympathy.

"In that case, I shall use a gentle poison to kill her so she won't suffer." Shinobu smiled — lifting her sword to her face. Tanjiro gasps slightly. "Can you move?" Tomioka asked Tanjiro who gulped.

"Make yourself move, even if you can't move. Take your sister and run." Tomioka ordered. "Tomioka-san.. Sorry for the trouble!" Tanjiro said, grabbing Nezuko and stumbling away. "Thank you very much!" Tanjiro shouted.

Sasuke scoffed at his stumbling and grabbed Nezuko's box, running after them. He picked up Tanjiro in a bridle position as he jumped through the trees.

Tanjiro gapped, looking up at a concentrated Sasuke. Suddenly, Sasuke twisted around, kicking back someone. Tanjiro gasps as the girl from final selection flipped backwards onto her feet. They land on the ground, skidding back.

Sasuke continued to run, and felt the girl run behind them. Tanjiro's and Nezuko's extra weight didn't help. It slowed him down slightly and this girl was on some different shit.

He felt a foot hit his back and grunted as they slam to the ground. Tanjiro was knocked out by a tree and Nezuko was on the ground, staring at the girl with wide eyes as she lifted her blade.

"No!" Sasuke said, grabbing the girl's boot and swinging her backwards, making her fall on Sasuke's back. "Run! I'll be behind you!" Sasuke shouted at Nezuko who nodded and ran.

A boot hit the back of his head. "Ack!" Sasuke's vision blurred as he watched the girl run after Nezuko. "No.." he murmured. He grabbed Tanjiro and slung the boy over his shoulder. He grunts, sending medical chakra to his head. He grabbed the box and ran again.

He caught up in no time. This time, his foot landed on the girls back and he kicked her away. "Get back!" Sasuke scowled, and grabbed Nezuko, who clutched Sasuke's shirt tightly.

"Message! Message!" A crow shouted and they both looked up. "I have a message from headquarters! Tanjiro and Nezuko are to be taken into custody and brought back to headquarters.! Tanjiro, and the demon, Nezuko are to be taken into custody and brought back to headquarters." The crow continued.

"Tanjiro dressed in a checkered haori, with a scar on his forehead." The crow described and the slayer in front of Sasuke looked at Tanjiro with confusion.

"Nezuko, a demon girl with a bamboo muzzle! Bring them back!bring them back!" The crow said and the slayer bent down slightly to Sasuke's height to look at them both. "Are you Nezuko?" She asked Nezuko. "Hn." Sasuke nodded in response for Nezuko.

"Get in the box, Nezuko." He ordered Nezuko who hummed, jumping from his arms and walking around him, getting in the box. He felt the box shift before it went still.

He walked with the slayer out of the forest where they met up with Kakushi, who were marvelling over the slayers he healed and saved.

He placed down Tanjiro and Nezuko's box as the slayer who gave him a concussion, explained to a Kakushi. Sasuke looked at the sky.

Sasuke stood in the shadows on the roof of the HQ, watching the Hashira meeting. He knew who they were when he asked a demon slayer at the butterfly mansion.

His hair shadowed his eyes as he watched Tanjiro be awoken and try to explain himself. Technically, Sasuke wasn't allowed to be there. But he promised himself to look over Tanjiro and Nezuko.

Tanjiro explained his story, but the Hashira didn't believe his words, all except Giyuu And sort of, Mitsuri.

"Oi Oi. I see there's some fun brewing here." A voice said and Sasuke looked over at Sanemi, who held Nezuko's box. Sasuke widened his eyes slightly.

"Is that the idiotic corps member who brought a demon along with him?" He asked his other Hashira. "What the hell are you trying to pull here?" He asked, annoyed but had a menacing grin on his face.

"This won't do, Lord Shinazugawa! I must ask you to put down that box." A female Kakushi said, appearing. Shinobu stood up, radiating anger. "Shinazugawa-san, please don't act out of line." Shinobu said to Sanemi, who ignored her.

"What about this demon, kid? That she can fight ad a demon slayer to protect humans?" Sanemi asked, grabbing his sword with his spare hand." You know what we call that? Completely impossible, you fool!" He shouted.

He unsheathed his sword and stabbed Nezuko's box. Sasuke saw red.

The Hashira heard a sword unsheathing and looked up, seeing Sasuke with his hair shadowing his face, his sword in hand. "Sasuke-san!" Tanjiro shouted in relief.

They watched as Sasuke disappeared. The Hashira look around in a haste.

Suddenly, Sanemi felt a blow to his stomach and coughed out blood. He was sent flying into the fence. Sasuke held the box on the ground next to him. "You even breathe near Nezuko again, I'll slaughter you." Sasuke said, killing intent radiating off his body.

All the Hashira unsheathe their swords, minus Giyuu, Shinobu and Mitsuri who watched with wide eyes.

"You.. damn brat!" Sanemi growled, standing up.

"Don't test me, scum." Sasuke scowled, twirling Kusanagi in his hand and clenched it tightly. "Ill destroy you in two seconds flat." Sasuke said and Sanemi smirked in amusement. "Sure you could!" He said sarcastically before growling.

"I'll kill you." He barked. "What are you, a damn dog? Pipe down before I put you down." Sasuke replied and Sanemi growled, running at him with a war cry. He swung his sword and Sasuke disappeared with Nezuko's box.

His kusanagi was sheathed this time.

The Hashira plus Tanjiro watched with bated breaths as the world turned black around them, but all built structures like the house were still there.

Sasuke stood behind Sanemi, his Sharingan activated and a Kunai to his neck. Sanemi felt his knees shake slightly as Sasuke's killing intent worked around the HQ.

'W-what is this presence?!' Sanemi thought, his eyes looking at Sasuke. "A-are you a demon?!" Sanemi asked. "No. I'm worse." Sasuke smirked, before getting rid of the Genjutsu, deactivating his sharingan and twirling his Kunai around his middle finger before putting it in his weapons pouch.

"Since killing is frowned upon here, I won't do it. Especially in the presence of the head of the demon slayer corps. Maybe obey rules next time, and set a good example. Just because you're strong doesn't mean you bully the younger ones." Sasuke hummed and the Hashira hesitated, but sheathed their swords.

"If you fail, my favourite poison might just slip into your morning tea." Sasuke murmured and Sanemi took a step back. Shinobu had a small, sadistic smile at that but as quickly as it appeared, it was gone.
