You don't know how to react, you're too nervous to even breathe.
"Alright, alright, calm down," he whispers.
But, it's too late. Everyone's staring. You and the hero are off the floor and walking towards your seats.
People begin to point.
"They're together! They're in love!"
"Look at them, they're so in love!"
"Shut up!" the hero yells, shoving people away from him.
"Hey! Watch your tone with me, lad!"
"Sorry, I just..."The people stare at you.
You take a deep breath and bow graciously to the man. "We apologize deeply for treating you rudely. Our relationship is new, and I'm afraid we were not expecting all this pressure. Please don't get angry with the Lor of Light for acting out of stress."
The man laughs. "You really know how to work a crowd, don't you?"
"I'm sorry?" You give him a confused look.
"I said, you really know how to work a crowd, don't you, 'Godkiller'?" The man sneers.
He's clearly trying to incite your rage. He's hoping to make the two of you seem like you're too short-tempered to properly protect Tyschia.
"Listen to me, human, and listen good. The Lor of Light is a hero, and I am not someone to be trifled with. If you insult me again, I will make sure you regret it."
The man raises his hands defensively. "I never meant to insult you. I'm just, well, I'm curious."
"Whatever. Now, we're going to take our seats. Would you please follow me? I won't bite, I promise."You bow again to the man, then turn to follow the hero.
"So, do you like this event?" you ask.
"Yeah, I think it's a good way to get out of the palace. I've been cooped up in here for too long."
"Me too. So, how have you been?"
"Okay. Better now that you're here, Godkiller" he grins playfully.
"I'm glad. So, are you ready to get started?"
"Yes! I'm ready!"
"Perfect."
The two of you walk into the auditorium. You notice the stage has been set up, a large platform has been constructed with a walkway along the side. A large curtain hangs down from the ceiling, blocking the front of the stage.
"There's the audience," the hero says, nodding towards the curtain.
You look at the curtain, then back at him.
"Godkiller, will you be performing on stage with me?" he asks.
You can't help but blush. "I...I don't know. I've never done that before."
"You're nervous?"
"Yeah."
"Don't be, you're going to be amazing"You look up at him.
"I hope so."
"I know so."
You feel your cheeks warm up with embarrassment. You didn't really expect the hero to be so sweet, but over the time you've gotten to know him you found out that he really is one of the sweetest people you've ever met. Every time you fell during combat training he'd help you out and give you tips and when you picked up on something easily he was always the first to praise you and tell you how well you did. It's embarrassing to admit, but whenever he told you how well you were doing with so much childlike joy, it made you happy beyond belief.Maybe that's why it bothered you so much when you noticed that, while he was buy telling you not to be nervous, he was shaking from head to toe.
