WELCOME TO THE DEATHLY HALLOWS!! WE MADE IT!!

Never thought we would with how slow at writing we are. But here we are. :) I was at comiccon last weekend, so I am sorry this is later and after what I left you all with last chapter. I was just too tired after all the fun to finish it. But here you go. DH will move pretty fast at first, with lots of changes to come. But I'll shoot for a few happy summer moments for Penny's sake. And don't worry, I'll keep Snape around as often as feasible even though I'm still a bit upset with him for him doing Penny that way.

Happy reading and have a good week!

Penny heard the words she'd known Harry had been working himself up to finally say to her for a long time. They'd gone through her ears and entered her mind, and yet her brain still did not quite comprehend their meaning. Or perhaps it just refused to accept them.

"I'm the only one who can do this. I have to go."

"You and Ron and Hermione, you mean," Penny corrected.

"What?" Harry said, brows furrowing.

"We both know you're not going alone, Harry. Ron and Hermione have known all along, so don't try and deny it"

"Yes, alright, but that's only because Dumbledore said—"

"It's just me who isn't invited," Penny cut across him, not the least bit interested in hearing about Dumbledore and his complete disregard for her life.

Harry cringed at the lack of emotion that accompanied Penny's words, worry gleaming in his eyes as he surveyed her. He was searching for the girl he wanted to find, the one he'd become accustomed to giving into him and accepting whatever bullshit was thrown her way. But she was long gone, leaving only an unashamed indignation that refused to let him skirt around the fact he, too, was leaving her behind.

"Penny, I didn't ask for it to be this way. Dumbledore was adamant—"

"Yeah, well, in case you hadn't noticed, Dumbledore is dead, so you're free to make up your own mind now, Harry," Penny said, venom lacing her words as she thought about the late headmaster and anger began to boil in the pit of her stomach. Hadn't he stolen enough for Penny? Would he continue to make her miserable beyond the grave too?

"And in case you'd forgotten, the Death Eaters can track you wherever you go with that mark, so this is a pointless argument."

"Pointless to you, maybe. You're not the one being abandoned."

"I'm not abandoning you," Harry said, voice quiet and looking hurt by the accusation in Penny's words. "I'm fighting for a life where we no longer have to fear for our lives."

"And me, what am I supposed to do, Harry? While you're running around being the hero who saves the world without any regard for your own life, what am I supposed to be? Because I can't be your sister, not when it requires resigning myself to spending everyday wondering if this is the day he finally captures you and I have to figure out how to bury another family member. I can't do that, Harry. Please don't ask it of me. If it has to be that way, let me go with you, let me be of some use."
