"Come on, you can do it."

Rose gently said. The pet therapist was trembling while gripping onto Rose's hands with their warm and fluffy gloves with cat paws. This was Nico first time ice skating. They couldn't stand for more than five seconds without falling.

"You're going to make me fall if you keep moving around. You know I can't ice skate that well either."

"I'm sorry, I can't control it.. You're better than me though."

"I couldn't afford to buy you a skating aid. Too much money."

"It's fine..."

Rose looked behind Nico. She saw many children pushing skating aids around the ice rink.

"Why don't you steal that penguin from that child over there?"

She pointed at a random child, who was laughing and screaming with joy.

"Huh? Why would I do that? And how can I? Her mother's with her."

Nico looked at Rose with confusion.

"I don't know. Just push her off the penguin and bring it over here. Then you won't need me to keep you balanced."

Rose said absentmindedly.

"W-what? No, I'm not doing that! She'll be crying and her mother will yell at me.."

"Oh, okay. Forget I said anything."

Actually, Nico couldn't forget what Rose said. She had basically told them to go harass a child.

"Waugh!"

Someone from behind accidentally bumped into Rose, causing her to slip and fall to the ground. But because Nico was holding onto her, they fell too. Their heads bumped into eachother.

"Ouch. Are you okay Nico?"

"Y-yeah. Are you?"

"Yep. Don't worry about me. Sorry about that."

Rose slowly got up, almost losing her balance, but thankfully didn't fall again.

"Here, let me help up."

Rose offered a hand to them. Nico grabbed her hand and pulled themself up.

"Ah!"

The force of Nico pulling themself up made Rose tremble, but she managed to keep her balance.

"Sorry! Are you okay?"

"Yeah."

Rose let out an awkward chuckle, and so did Nico. They smiled at eachother, as words came out of Rose's mouth.

"Here, let's try something. Let's try going to the opposite side of the rink. Let's see how good your balance is."

"What? I'm going to fall again.."

"Don't worry. I'll be next to you. Just hold onto me when you almost lose your balance."

Nico nodded. Rose held their hand and slowly started moving. They hesitated, but managed to follow her. The rest of the time in the ice rink was quite calming for the two. Sure, Nico almost fell many times, but with Rose with them, they managed keep their balance. They enjoyed ice skating together. If they were ice skating with the others, then it would have been chaos, pure chaos. The two of them slipping and falling was already a bit chaotic enough. They also grabbed some slushies after they had enough of ice skating.

The weather was cold, but with the two of them together, there was warmth in their hearts.
