Chapter 11: The Official Family

It was a beautiful afternoon in Finland. The children were happily playing together in the playground, including Asko and Botan. Ivor and Jani were also there to look after their brother and adopted sister. Playing with them was Ragne and three boys were Reijo, Kaarle and Valto. The three boys were the boys Botan met in chapter 5 but I was too lazy to name them in that chapter.

They were divided into two teams, each of three people. Team 1 consisted of Botan, Asko and Valto in which Valto was the goalkeeper. Team 2 consisted of Ragne, Reijo and Kaarle in which Kaarle was the goalkeeper.

The next match began, this time Botan's team had the right to take the lead. Asko and Botan kept the ball towards the goal guarded by Kaarle. Ragne and Reijo rushed to claim the ball, but Botan and Asko had a rhythmic combination that helped them break through the solid defense of Ragne's team. After getting past Ragne and Reijo, Botan passed the ball to Asko and then Asko hit an accurate shot that helped the ball pass the obstacle of Kaarle's skillful catching hand and hit the net.

"2-2. One more win for Botan's team and I will win 40 Euro."

Jani said confidently.

"Yeah right. Keep in your mind that Ragne's team scored 0-2 first."

Ivor replied.

"How does it matter? Botan, Asko and Valto are coming back! Not only that, the fact that Ragne's team was equalized while leading by 2 points didn't only make them less confident but also helped Botan's team more confident!"

"Let's see..."

Ivor said with his eyes narrowed.

The fifth match quickly began, this time Ragne's team got the lead. Ragne and Reijo kept the ball towards the goal guarded by Valto. Botan and Asko rushed to take the ball and there was a very tense ball dispute. In the end, Ragne was pinned down by Botan and Asko so she was forced to pass the ball to Reijo. After Reijo got the ball, he quickly led the ball to Valto's goal. With the swiftness of a lion, Botan quickly caught up with Reijo and recaptured the ball before he shot. Reijo then quickly chases Botan to recapture the ball, but because he was rushing so fast, he accidentally shoved Botan with a painful kick.

"BOTAN!"

Ivor and Jani shouted in unison with worry. The match was suspended, everyone approached Botan and checked if she was injured.

"Botan! Are you ok?!?!"

Asko worriedly asked.

"I...I feel hurt...a bit..."

Botan said in a voice trying to hold back his tears. Even so, a few tears fell from Botan's eyes but she didn't try not to burst into tears. She had a scratch on her knee, it wasn't too severe, but it was deep enough for some blood to come out.

"Oh dear!"

Ivor was terrified.

"Botan! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to shove you down!"

Reijo quickly bowed his head in apology to Botan.

"It-It's alright...I forgive you!"

Botan tried to hold back his tears to smile happily. At the same time, Jani returned.

"Botan... Let me carry you home."

Jani requested.

"Jani...thanks..."

Thanked Botan. Jani then carried Botan on his back and prepared to bring her home.
