Chapter 24: Planning

It's been a few weeks since that awkward encounter with Annie, I'm not sure what came over me or why we did what we did. She's refused to speak to me since so I haven't really conversed with anyone recently, not that I mind, I enjoy the quietness of solitude. Magath has called in the titan shifters for some unknown reason, they still don't know about Annie's presence, that information is reserved for me and Zeke as of now.
"Hello Y/N," my skin immediately begins to crawl as I almost instantly recognize the voice, I turn my body as I see him.......
Zeke Yeager, I'm not entirely sure why but ever since our last confrontation I've been almost terrified of his mere presence, the thought of one person having this much knowledge and understanding of his surroundings is bone chilling to me, I suppose it never really hit me how in control Zeke was before now. My eyes dart to the floor trying my best to avoid eye contact.
"It's been a while" he says, nothing that he does is inherently scary but his knowledge makes him unpredictable and I hate the unpredictable. He simply smiles before walking off
"See ya at the meeting Y/K"
I gather myself trying to ignore how insanely creepy that was. As I start to think I reflect on how much time I have left. I only have a few years before I succumb to this curse and will be forced to give up my power........and life. I need to cut my losses and move my plans forward regardless.
"Mr. Tyber" a rather young sounding voice interrupts my thoughts. I look down to see a group of children that are all too familiar.
"Ah Gabi, what brings you and your little squad here" I say squatting down to her level. I properly met Gabi in a briefing a few days after finding out Annie was conscious, while she can be a handful I respect her dedication to the cause even if shes misguided.
"Magath has ordered your attendance" she says standing tall and proud whilst her friends Falco, Zofia, and Udo all seem visibly exhausted. Udo then speaks up.
"Did we have to run the whole way Gabi" she gives him a stern look as he looks to the floor before returning back towards me. I slightly frown before standing back up. This certainly interferes with my plans but perhaps this isn't the worst possible timing, she isn't aware that I already know about the meeting but I might as well let her have this.
"Well then, I suppose I know where my next destination is, would you like to come with me?" I ask smiling. She looks at me with a wide grin on her face nodding. I look over to Falco as he seems to remember something before speaking.
"Uhh sorry guys I just remembered I actually have to go do..... studying" he awkwardly says inching away, I raise my eyebrow.
"You have to go do studying?" I ask, he looks at me with caution in his eyes.
"Yes?" He says as if he's asking me for confirmation.
"Ok" I simply say as I turn around and continue on my path, he seemed surprised by this. Obviously he's lying however, aside from the fact I don't much care, I also have bigger plans that are only halted further by bothering myself with whatever Falco is up to.

After a lengthy walk, more of a power jog for Gabi, we finally make it to our destination. As we are about to enter the room I tell the children to wait outside before entering the board room. Everyone is here, Magath, Riener, Porco, Zeke, and........Pieck. I give a half hearted wave awkwardly before taking my seat next to Pieck however as I get closer she gets up and sits next to Porco. I don't know why but this hurts me, I feel almost ashamed despite my lack of care before now. I shrug this off and look across the room noticing some other people whom I only faintly recognize due to seeing them at one of my Uncle's events.
"Listen up because I don't intend on being a broken record, we have reports confirming the worst, not only does the enemy have a rather heavy set of Anti Titan weaponry, they also have armoured trains, trains that if not promptly dealt with could lead to a lot of damage and unnecessary casualties" As Magath continues to speak Iook out the window and notice a light flashing, I would've ignored it had it not been in a faintly similar pattern, I squint my eyes trying to remember where I remember that pattern before it finally hits me that the pattern is........
"TYBER" I hear Magath's voice cut through my thoughts like a dagger as I snap back into focuse looking at him.
"You didn't hear a goddamn word of what I said did you" he says clearly agitated.
"Ummm sorry sir it was a long night, could you repeat that" In the corner of my eye I feel as though I can see Pieck roll her eyes. Magath let's out a heavy sigh before repeating his plan.
